LMAO I totally baited you into this. I knew you would take this stance.

When Bo Nix was at Auburn, the weekly discussion from the Auburn majority was about how he was:

1) Throwing the ball too hard/overthrowing receivers.
2) Should have been benched for Joey Gatewood who was more talented, but racism/nepotism (Nix family name) kept Bo in the lineup all the while the offense was struggling.
3) Ruining Seth Williams' stats. Seth Williams was apparently the "true talent" on the offense who wasn't putting up the numbers he could have been putting up, because Bo Nix was missing too many throws.
4) Was a spoiled "coach's son" who was trying to do too much on the field, and would blame others for mistakes (routinely seen yelling at his OL, and the public fight he had on the sidelines with Seth Williams).
5) Auburn would have won more games had they had better QB play (did you miss the weekly War Rapport podcasts?)

That was the actual discussion that was going on. Everyone was aware that he was a 5-star recruit, but please for the life of me don't try and suggest that ANYONE foresaw Oregon getting a "can't miss" quarterback .

And I'll give you the kiss of death:

When he officially transferred to Oregon, I got curious and went to some of their message boards. Not one damn person thought that they wered getting a "cant miss player" of any sort. At the time most of their fans were actually annoyed, because they had Top 50 recruit Ty Thompson on the roster already, and they expected him to start. Most of their fanbase was confused as to why they were bringing in Auburn's ~12 TD's per season QB who was winning ~8 games a year in the SEC on a middling offense, when they had a highly hyped recruit on their roster already who all of them were waiting to see. Ty Thompson was supposed to be their star QB, not Auburn's castoff Bo Nix.

I would wait until the end of portal season to react or when we get a final answer on things

I mean, at this point everyone is reacting to even less credible information that we get during recruiting.

I never said we would lose those games. Still, we would lose enough to be out of the playoffs. So does it not make sense to go ahead and round out the roster instead of paying up, hoping for a one year bandaid?

Congrats on calling Cam Ward a cant miss prospect after the fact he missed out on his own team.

Oregon fans trashed him on twitter regularly enough so that an Auburn receiver defended him on twitter

Idgaf what the consensus was on message boards. That doesn't change how I or the people in my family and I work with that I talked to outside of the message board felt about him. The fact is there's a piece of the fanbase that expected him to pop off in Oregon. Plain and simple.
