Agreed. Thornton needs to be evaluated for sure. I do have some thoughts deeper then just coaching technique. I may start another thread that highlights some of things I think needs to happen moving forward.

We have an entire department in the football organization that is supposed to evaluate and have players ranked for the possibility they enter the portal so that the coaching staff can move quickly if someone they are interested in enters the portal.
So this year we can afford misses in the portal. I would assume our portal numbers will be around 10-12 players coming in. We need more but would have to have young guys enter the portal to get many more.

There are rumors going around the paid sites about some guys, but the mods are deleting the threads as soon as they’re posted. Could be because there’s legs to them and don’t want to give any credence to tampering accusations or could be because they’re baseless.

Keep seeing some decent tackles in the portal according to the scouting reports. I wonder if Thornton is actually contacting anyone?

I'm probably saying what others have already said in this thread and elsewhere, but this should be a rebuilding year based on our QB and Line situations. Unfortunately Hugh has painted himself into a corner and can't afford a mid record next year... so the portal additions need to be big time at several positions. Ace QB, KLS replacement, top half of SEC OT, maybe 2 disruptive interior DL and high caliber Mike LB. And those are just the impact pickups. Need some depth pickups as well.
Our portal game has been very mid so far. Our only real hope for next year is that Redmond significantly raises the quality of portal additions.

Ga Tech WR Eric Singleton Jr. entered the Portal. This kid almost ended up at AU out of HS, and in hindsight we should have taken him. He had 56 receptions for 754 yards this past season.
