I feel you dude

I'm coming off a torn tricep tendon...damn skull-crushers

2024 was basically a rehab year, 2 weeks away from my 1 year post-op date. Tri is about 75% healed. Should be close to 100% by summer and competing in the fall. Trying to break the state squat record in the 198-220 class.

Fitness has saved my life and mental health

Holy shite you are a power lifter.

My baseline is pretty low without weights. I couldnt do 135 until probably my sophomore year in HS. My PR is only around 305 and then I started having shoulder problems

5'11 175 and before anybody calls me skinny I was a buck forty when I graduated hs. I work out 5 days a week and it's a struggle to eat enough to maintain my weight

Numbers dont mean anything. It's more so physique and body type.

If you have bigger head probably need a bigger chest and shoulders kind of thing.

buddy I feel you again on that, had bicep tendon surgery in 17 to fix a tear in my shoulder where it connects

I'm 29, I don't plan on "powerlifting" many more years, just really want this record before I slow down

Training honestly is more mental than physical for me. Always delt with mental issues, lifting helps me mental a lot. No kids, no wife, so training is what I do as my passion. Caught my now ex fiance cheating back in the fall, so that made for a lot more gym motivation haha

THIS

To hit my daily protein intake is ridiculous. The diet is the hardest part about fitness, imo

Working out is the perfect antidote for that and other stressers.

You are blessed to find out when you did. Consider yourself lucky!

AMEN BROTHER - thank God I never had a kid with her and she could've taken me for everything if the wedding went through.

100%, God works in mysterious ways - was saving $ for the wedding/honeymoon as a surprise to her - turned that into a 23 GT Challenger hahah

Yeah man marriage is a big vulnerability and you would've been upside down in despair if yall were much further along. I am no relationship expert but I am a routine expert. When I stick with my workout I feel better about everything. The world is a circus but by working out I deal with it all better. If I can hone in some other habits such as dip and beer Ill be so much better for it, but then I feel bored inside my head. You nailed it too. Diet and cooking clean meals are the hardest part.

Not that hard at all if you don't mind eating the same thing each night for 5-6 days then switch it up.

My wife has her own business as a RD LD Dietician here in FL. Her masters was in sports nutrition.

It takes planning and dedication. I shake it up each week with the way I flavor things. But we have a pretty clean diet. Lean Proteins and a ton of greens daily.

Of course it is very hard to do if you have kids & others at home if they aren't into it and want a ton of processed food. Just my 2 cents but it can be done with the right planning. May want to consult a dietician that can help you plan it out so you get everything you need.

I’m baked chicken and broccoli. Probably eat that 60% of lunch and dinners.
