All this 4-5 Star talent and the heart of an equipment manager. No one earned their spot on the roster next season except Atkins in my opinion. No one went full speed every down like he did. Not even Coleman.
So if he or any of the others want to leave, LET THEM. Thank them for their time, and their lil asses can frick off.
We move on. I think that's Golesh's mentality. Bring in USF's QB, WRs & OL and start there if you must. They're all winners. I'd Cignetti the frick outta this thing.
Don't necessarily disagree, but schedule's harder, portal is completely difficult to rely on for a roster and now we have to. Next year could easily be worse than this year if we miss and as we have seen, that will snowball. It sounds good to get all these plucky three stars, but we aren't winning 8 games in this conference with a G5 roster.
How long does Golesh get? Or is Auburn even capable of competing in the top 15-25 anymore with the way the game's changed? It's ugly and it will eventually decline to just a tired vehicle for gambling like the pros already are.

Ive bought in to this offense working in the SEC and trust Golesh has enough sense to know his Oline will make or break him. Spend 3/4 of the NIL on both lines if you have to, but dont limp into next season saying we just need more lineman. With everyone leveraging for a check on top of our leadership change this is to be expected. I havent looked but I bet FL and LSU are losing talent. Maybe not as bad as Auburn but its not over yet. We know, Golesh knows that we are hemorrhaging lineman. FOR NOW, I am confident that were still going the right way, but Im running out of reasons to keep it. There isnt any team that is net positive for now

Man, it has been fun reading the melt, I’d say 9/10
it has been interesting to listen to all the takes. Hoping Cam tears his ACL and Golesh can’t recruit is crazy talk.
Look, I hate Cam is leaving as much as anyone else but am I shocked, no. No one really knows why he left but I don’t think it was for money or how he felt about Auburn. I think he loves it in Auburn. He was going to be a potential 1st Rd pick and get paid, regardless of what he chose. Unfortunately, I think he wanted to go somewhere to compete for a championship, and play in more of a pro style passing offense, with an ascending QB, better preparing him for the NFL. Taking my bias out of it and that would’ve been my advice.

A lot of players might be leaving but can you really say he fumbled “his” first recruiting class? You just kinda snuck that one in there from the melt

You’re right, Hugh won the headlines and then not shite on the field. I’d gladly take the opposite

Im melting over Cam, but there is nothing to support this being the case.
We have ZERO clue who has been targeted or who is coming from the portal.

At this point Brown would be crazy to come here with no OL to block for him. That would totally tank his draft stock.
Apparently, we aren’t fielding an OL from now on, just one center to snap it. Our playbook is going to be made up of all punt formation trick plays. The rules state you have to have 7 players on the line of scrimmage, it doesn’t say anything about how many has to block

Blackerby, Dapprich and i think Rush talked about this on a stream last week about how Freeze won the press conference to the point where we had lot of media fooled into believing we were a dark horse and then just never did anything. Golesh isn't trying to win press conferences, he wants to win on the field and is going to try and do everything he can to make that happen. what's happening right now though is that we've got a serious problem with how the transfer portal works and scumbag agents giving their clients terrible advice so that the agent themselves can get more money.

Don’t hate the player, hate the game. That is college football free agency every year now. I don’t understand why anyone is really shocked, especially being these are Hugh’s players, besides the ones who are Durkin’s and he hasn’t been in Auburn very long.

I laughed. It truly is amazing watching our online fanbase. Truly one of the most fragile bunch out there. Auburn twitter giveth and taketh.

And Maybe
…. these boys have not only found out they’re not going to get paid starter pay any longer but that they’re techicnally third stringers in reality. We’ve been feed horse shite for so long many have gotten use to the taste and so have they.

Now what is Trinidad and 24 say. We have 30 million and gonna let good players walk to bring in less talented for the same cost. This is a great way to build a roster
Who me? I mean, I think we were willing to match anyone and anything to keep him here, which is why we felt good about him staying, but unfortunately, that wasn’t his choice. We didn’t “let” him leave. We can’t force that man child to play here.
But you know me, being half full, maybe there is a silver lining?
Is a WR1, with one more year, worth 10 or 15 percent of our cap? Especially in a prolific offense that distributes the ball and not target one player over another. Used to scoring a lot of points, with a number of players. Idk? It also frees up a lot of money to spend on building the trenches, where it really matters

Yep. I think they wanted to pay him but maybe felt this way also

Yeah, but good luck getting a bunch of kids and agents to buy into that when they know the next school will just pay them.
Well, not to stoke fear but be advised, Cam and Deuce have the same agent.

I'm guessing the intent is that we pay well above going rate for hitting performance incentives. If a player believes they are All SEC material, they would make more money playing at Auburn I'd imagine it would play well and get more booster commitment too. The boosters are only writing big checks when we win Finally from a team culture standpoint, the guys who are willing to bet on themselves usually are guys who work harder than others. It's a good way to weed out those who collect and coast
Good point

Hell, we don’t even know who will officially be leaving and who won’t. Yet our fans have no problem going ahead and trashing guys for the whole world to see, before they’ve even left. Good strategy
