A part of me believes Champ Anthony can actually start and play well in the SEC at corner. If we just find one other good corner we might be fine. Newboy and winters are flat NFL guys in my opinion.

Anybody ready to buy the College Football Game now that we have this new offense and Brown? In my research of the veer and shoot it appears the most feedback had to do with the video game and not real life football.

I hope our linemen can hold tight while Brown scans the pocket in the videogame.

You’re not still panicking about the QB room? If Brown goes down and with Deuce leaving, we’d be absolutely fudged with either the 2* redshirt freshman or the 3* true freshman coming in.

Pete Nakos on CB Ricky Gibson:

quote:

Tennessee CB Rickey Gibson
With visits scheduled to Auburn and Texas A&M, Rickey Gibson is early in the process of his transfer recruitment. But early signs have pointed to the cornerback landing with the Aggies. That could obviously change with Auburn scheduled to get him on campus on Wednesday. Gibson played 13 games as a true freshman in 2023 with the Vols, finishing the season with nine tackles and a pass breakup. Gibson had a breakout year in 2024 as a sophomore when he had 32 tackles, two tackles for loss, five pass breakups and a forced fumble.

Agree on Newboy and Winters, hopefully they both are starting full time.

Go back and watch the Vandy game, Vandy obviously studied the tapes. They kept setting up formations forcing Caleb Harris to come down into coverage.....and burning that arse.

Then Mercer watched that tape and for a quarter and a half......burned that arse.

He is great in run support but just does not have the wheels for coverage.

are they even taking visits? Usually I don't care until I see that our staff makes them priority.

If Durkin doesn’t tell Drago that he needs to jump on both those guys, then send their butts to Tampa.

What’s going on with that Kennesaw State QB? Could be a good pickup and he has at least 2 years of eligibility. Could compete for backup role and could compete for the job of the next year.

Zac Blackerby thinks it’s not over with Deuce, from what he’s hearing.

Any more rumblings on deuce returning? Or is he totally gone? Thought that was an interesting tidbit from yesterday.

Also, does anyone know what Thamel means about Brown’s deal “projects as one of the most lucrative in the NIL era”

Would love some more inside info on this.

If Brown puts up the numbers he did last season, he will get his incentives and probably be the highest paid QB in the country.

I wanted both out of highschool, and I'd love to have them now but.. I don't see the point in just randomly getting excited over guys unless a visit has been scheduled. Need to get on the phone for sure though

not yet

There’ll be plenty of backup QB’s to choose from. Even guys on teams still playing. And I’m thinking their cost will go down once everyone’s immediate needs are filed. Once the desperation is felt both ways.
