Dude could tote the rock though….

Lol for real, I think a lot of people forget (me included, until I watch highlights) how good he was in 2013. Guaranteed 6 yards and two broken tackles on every carry. Averaged nearly two tuddies per game too.

Feels weird to be at the end of the portal window and still have so many significant contributor spots open.

Based on who the staff has pursued and what “insiders” are saying we are still looking for starter level help at these positions:

OG -missed on Bah
TE- just what insiders are saying… they still want a game changer here
DL- may want 2 starter level, but at least 1
DE - I assume Womack for this spot
WR- Staff has pursued many coveted receivers and missed on all non-USF guys.. they clearly want another
CB - my own gut feeling, would like to have another cover guy who can push for starting role

And we should expect several depth pieces and projects to round out the numbers. I just don’t know why the depth pieces are waiting until the last second.

The ncaa could return the favor by forcing player to sign a contract to not accept money through NIL to play for a ncaa program. 5 stars aren't going to the NFL without a place to show their abilities.

NCAA literally can't do any of that. The House vs. NCAA case pretty much took all authority away from the NCAA to enforce anything to do with NIL. The NCAA can still make rules for the sports (a hold is a 10 yard penalty), they can enforce gambling rules, they can enforce some other stuff, but they have NO POWER at all over NIL.

Coaches whose recruiting didn’t impress this portal cycle:

Kodi- no receivers who didn’t come from USF.
Banks- only a USF safety and none of the Tennessee defensive transfers visited us.
Hutzler- no Miss State defensive transfers and no significant DE visited. May be about to partially redeem himself.

my philosophy has always been, if you go ugly, go ugly early so you get the "pretty" one.

OG- yeah they would like one here and are trying
DL-Have we heard on Dantre Robinson from UNC? Dallas Walker has applied for another year.
WR-I dont know who else, they have tried about half a dozen times, the last I saw Johntay Cook out of Syracuse

As Jville said, the fillers will be easy, there are over 1500 dangling in the portal without a home.

Sure hope this works. Look on the bright side if it doesnt we can just rent out Jordan Hare as a home for the abused. "A safe home where no one has been beaten in years".

We got on a roll after the Miss State game and Mason was impossible to stop. He could split a seam better than any back we’ve ever had. Just needed two inches and boom he was through there.

That ok. Between what we brought in and who we have on campus, we will be fine

Way more 10,600 players are in the portal. There are 6,800 without a team yet. Granted these players can be from all levels of football but lots of players out there without a place to play. I’m sure many won’t find a place even with the extended roster space.

The money pot is only so large. With what we have on the roster so far we are ok at WR. I would like to see more SEC quality linemen.

A burner at WR is nice but if the opponent is chewing up 5 yards a carry the WR will be sitting on the bench waiting for the defense to get off the field.

Outside of Brown I’m not impressed at all with our portal additions. I understand the USF transfers they should help in mentoring our young roster. Our redshirt freshman and true sophomore class has got to be massive. I haven’t added up the totals but seems everyone is right there.

OT/OG from Stanford is currently on campus. He has starting experience at both positions
