There are VERY few players at Auburn that have any right trying to bargain for more money. Certainly none reside in the WR room.

You also can't become known as the school that hands out bags of cash for nothing. Which is what Freeze was building here.

I wasn’t commenting on whether we should let Simmons walk or not. No idea what he’s getting paid so hard to comment on that.

I was commenting on the idea that if a player asks for more money then it means he doesn’t want to be here and we shouldn’t keep him. Would be a dumb way to go about things if you ask me.

Yeah you will. But theres levels to it. This is 101 shite. Im not saying golesh isn't giving anybody a raise but he's got limits. If malcolm was making a quarter mil last year and he looks at what singleton was making and he's like I want that. Thats a big jump and doesnt sound like a guy that WANTS to be at Auburn. Thats a guy that wants more money.

This is simple shite.

Figured Carter might be gone. It was always a little weird that a Cali kid committed to us and this gives him a good chance to probably get back out West.

I guess the backups to the offensive line we fielded this year are not headed to UGA or Ohio State.

Either we're about to have the best team money can buy or the 2026 roster is going to make Freeze's first roster look like the 1999 St. Louis Rams.

This stings lil bros.

Can you imagine if we hired Durkin for roster retention just to deal with this anyway.

I’ve got a phd in covering for incompetent coaching, but I’m willing to wait and see with Golesh before assuming the worst. Most, if not all of these announced portal entries smack of kids whose unearned paychecks were about to end. Let’s judge after the portal closes.

OL defections are going to hit different because we have so much to replace just due to graduation. I’ll be annoyed if we don’t go on a major OL shopping spree in the portal.

If we start losing the big dogs in defense I’ll worry. I ain’t worried about losing Carter and Edwin

What a shite post. We are up to 11 at least and will probably hit 30-35 transfers before all is said and done.

Are people melting about losing most of another shitty AU team?

Might be time to touch grass

Nope. Dont think so. But I know reality when people were saying "hire Durkin to retain the roster."

And if he keeps the defense mostly together thats a dub. He did a part of his job we expected him to.

With 4 transfers on defense so far, only one of which saw any meaningful playing time, this DJ stuff is so out of left field.

I don’t think people thought keeping Durkin would help retain the offense

I don't get it either. We had a shitty OL. People bitching about losing backups boggles my mind. OL is one position we need to hit the portal hard for. I don't mind trimming the fat, at all.

This is a rebuild. It's not a reload situation. Golesh needs to get what he needs for his system. People bitching about bringing in USF players. Cignetti brought in like 15 from JMU. That sometimes works.
