Its something for you to seriously ponder. What does On3 gain by ranking some kid from lowly USF over two players from Auburn? There was a guy on here who claimed that Blocton would be irreplaceable on a previous page, and yet he is rated a 3-star transfer. It sounds like Traveon Mitchell is a perfectly acceptable replacement for Blocton.
Fans always think that their players are somehow unique little snowflakes. As if our solid rotational DL who didn't even start is the the best rotational DL in the entire country.
I guess On3 didn't get the memo that our outgoing transfers are all elite superstars per Freeze and Jang?

If we are moving on from Blocton is needs to be a big upgrade not a guy who maybe might could be slightly better.
ON3 gets tons of things wrong, mostly rankings.
If we are going to rebuild the defense then it needs to be top players, not average guys from a lower level.
I'm not mad at you for wanting to be positive after a new coach comes in, but you also can't be surprised that people aren't excited about players from the USF defense.

You’re good, jt. Sucks to be the dissenting voice on the thread. I’ll too acknowledge it blows to see contributors go. I don’t know if this is a bad sign for Golesh or a sign of the times with the portal. Maybe both
Either way, I’m not interested in sugar coating the beatings we’re taking. Hopefully we can replace some dudes when the portal actually opens and all this bitching will be for nothing

Freeze was a bad hire. Harsin is arguably the worst hire in SEC history.

Correct, or backups that just happen to be on good teams. For every Xavier Atkins there are 30 Antonio Kites.

All good Jones. And to be clear I'm not all negative. Keeping Atkins and seemingly bringing in Brown are big moves, its just going to take a lot more big moves to fill the holes we have now.

Harsin ran off a legacy who was born Auburn. He is Denver's starting QB.
Harsin went to Cal and ran off the entire skill positions on O. One went on to win the Heisman this year.

frick that. Freeze may not have won shite but he didn’t take a dump on AU as a coach and former coach. Harsin is a horrible coach. No clue how he won games at Boise. Don’t care complete failure at AU and didn’t give a crap

I remember my first big red flag was reading that Boise State fans were very happy to see him go, and specifically called out his recruiting as a reason. I didn’t want to believe it, because Auburn was still in the honeymoon phase thinking we just landed the next Coach Dye.

The players declaring for the portal really discouraged me. Both the idea of losing talent, and the reality that these players don’t care about the fans or university… but I think I’ve finally come to peace with everything by just focusing on the 30 million cap. When all is said and done, will we have a 30 million roster? If we do, then it’s all good, and Golesh will have everything he needs.
I’m expecting us to be able to discern whether or not our team is worth $30 million when we look at our roster in a couple of months.

Hopefully the movement will settle down after a few years and after a lot of players get burned.
I'm not sure who could resist the idea of an extra $50K - $250K simply to change schools.
