[quote]Amaris is injury prone too, so there’s another reason for his lack of production. With that said, I’d be surprised if he’s anything but a depth piece at thUGA, unless they are thin on the Dline.[/quote

Nah the kid is from clinton nc. He will not be at uga more than 18 months. He is either going to have a mental meltdown in athens or a big run in with the law.

Had fresh caught salmon in Alaska this past summer. Going to be awhile before I can eat the salmon here and enjoy it.

I am having the same issue with US sushi. Japan spoiled me with the good stuff.

I feel you. I'm having salmon now and it's good but not the same.

This has turned into a Lanier thread apparently.

At least when Jang clutters up the thread, it’s at least arguing about something relevant

I doubt this was a great business decision unless we encouraged him to move on.

I mean he would have been riding the bench here again next season. He's not starting over Ramil or Simmons. A guy like this needs to go and start playing somewhere if he actually has desire to see the field, and that means dropping down to a smaller program. He's been here for what? 3 seasons now?

Kansas State is a good outcome if he can actually win a starting role there. Its obvious that it was unlikely to ever happen here.

Hay is in the barn for the most part. All in all I think Drago and staff did about as good as can be expected in the portal. Addressed positions of need and kept enough of Durkin's defense to have a chance to be really good on defense again.

Im pulling for Drago. I like the cut of his jib. But I don’t expect a super high swing upward. We’ve got enough South Florida guys to at least set the culture standard moving into spring ball and with a stellar off-season of weight training we could surprise a few teams maybe. I think we’ll look competent enough to improve our recruiting and have recruits and portal guys see the potential at least. Thats about all you can ask for year 1. We have sucked since most of the players were in middle or elementary school and we’re on our 4th coach since Covid.

UGA, Bama, Tennessee, Ole Miss…4 teams who’ve reached the playoff on the last 2 seasons on the road, along with LSU, Florida, and Vandy at home will be a challenge.

At least it’ll be interesting to watch A-day for the first time in a while.

This first recruiting class is extremely important and I think this staff is going to have the ability to recruit at a high level

I don’t like the new reality of Oregon paying more for depth than we can for someone that likely has an impact on our team

Oil money, some of the northern schools that just have frick you billionaires, and your Miami types are going to be the ruling class of the NIL spend world most likely. It’s a weird reality we are in.

This shits annoying. Why even get involved if you're not gonna be serious in the end? Did they think Oregon was really gonna be like "nahh he aint worth all that"?

Might as well just save some time and resources if the Texas schools or Oregon get involved.

Every school has to decide what the max they are willing to spend on a player and stick to it. There is no point in trying to outbid anyone just to prove we can. They will be a lot of players getting paid way more than they should, I hope to keep the number we do to a minimum

Losing transactionally to recruits is something I will always struggle with. Those kids dont deserve that money and it's a farce that our athletic department has to play along knowing they are not on a level playing field.
