You're daydreaming lil bro. Those linemen are responsible for being the 4th best team in the AAC at best

Auburn's OL ranked 13th in the SEC. And these guys did not sniff starting for a line that ranked among the worst in the SEC.

Jang, Im certain they were offered a scholly, but they were making six figures, and that would be too bitter a pill to swallow.

And thanks for the "lil bro" comment, it means its working, Ive been trying to look small to avoid those kenetic strikes when I take the ferry to Tobago.

They threw a huge bag at the Carter kid to sign here out of Cali and he has done literally nothing. This is just spring cleaning.

If anyone ever wondered how USF would fare playing an SEC schedule, we'll find out next year

I assume we are not even started with the portal as far as official signings.

I hope we can improve and at least can score more than 11 ppg in conference which is why Member/Guest got fired.

I bet we at least have less penalties and turnovers.

I bet we are more physical than under Freeze.

meta Im sure Favor was as well, we were "battling" bama for him supposedly.
And I agree with you, probably shocked them when we proposed their new deal was a scholly and little or no NIL.

Jang we want the same thing here. And there are no guarantees with the portal. But if we keep highly paid non performers on the bench, we are guaranteed not to have the money to at least try in the portal. And as mentioned these kids will not stay put when they realize the new eval and pay....or lack there of.

Remember that 21 mil available, most of it will be allocated to football....the same with all sec schools so its just an "ante" in the pot when we are fighting for the same players in the sec (well plus what each school's boosters throw in). It means every dollar counts.

I saw a clear change in direction the minute we fired Freeze. You refuse to address that

yall are crazy if you think we will carry 105 studs on our roster. The extra spots will be filled with special teams, walkons, etc. These guys want to play and not sit the bench as 6th string. 85 is the perfect number.

The 105 is just an accounting adjustment. I can't recall the details, but you could have up to 120 bodies under tye old system, coaches were taking advantage, so they just said screw it go to 105 scholarships. It wont have the effect people think. You really only have about 50 contributors and then the practice squad. There is a good 5% for nepotism (board member kids, ex players kids, etc.)

Jang is janging again. Like what do you expect us to do recruiting wise with the staff we had that were obviously itching to leave on the offensive side. Who would feel their authenticity if the coaching staff doesn't even seem to care while recruiting. We hardly heard any recruiting news during this season while Hugh was still here, that felt like an omen in ways. In other words recruiting is not GOLESH's fault.

Did anybody notice that we whiffed on recruiting also?

Not in the Oline you didn’t. They were still booty cheeks.

Recruiting as a whole isnt in Golesh's fault yet. But he got whooped regarding Jase Matthews and since recruiting was a dud we have to win in the portal.

Do you weirdos not get we have 105 schollys to work with now. Why are we trying to overhaul a top 15 roster?

Our OL held up against Bama and Vandy enough to win.

Seems to me it’s more trimming the fat. I wanted Perry to stay, because he has tons of potential. But he was getting overpaid for the amount of production he’s put out. Same with Simmons. Everyone else has done nothing or have been in trouble off the field. Also, losing Mr. Dude Wipes frees up a lot of NIL money too.

Let’s say Drago replaces Simmons with the nail painter from uat. Sounds like a good deal for Drago to me. Let’s let things play out.

Not me. I think we will be anywhere from 50-60 players getting paid. The top 15 players will probably suck up close to half of NIL value. The other 40’s will get solid money but not live changing money.

Then you will have about 50ish are mainly just scholarship players with probably 20’s getting about $1000 a month of some spending money.

If we can get that $30ish million every year in NIL for football (yes that number includes the rev share number) then we would probably be in the top 6-7 in the conference in available funds.

So at the end of the day it depends on if we can coach, scheme, execute better then teams that we are close to talent with.

This is good news....

Yes, three-star offensive lineman Bear McWhorter decommitted from Michigan in December 2025 due to coaching changes, and recruiting analysts are predicting he will flip to Auburn, citing pre-existing relationships with the new Auburn staff and strong interest from the Tigers.

Listed as a 3 star but he had offers from michigan, bama, florida, florida state, georgia, etc.

He is classmates with Kail Ellis, meaning if Kail had not graduated a year early they would be in the same signing class from the same school.

Golden Flakes is about to have one end zone while Apple has the other end zone on the opposing side of Yellow Wood field. We’re good, man.

I am glad we could dump the #1 IOL recruit in the nation to pick this kid up.
