Just look at who’s available in the portal that melts over mistakes, because there are many, passing the ball is like the 5th on the list he might do well at, and is always looking for the other half of the playbook he never gets to run while on the field.
That would be jville’s choice

Seriously asking who should we go get? Who gets your approval that is in the portal?

Still not sure why the question is so difficult to answer.

As far as QB transfers, any kind of police reports, speeding, stolen credit cards, laptop issues, weed, etc would be the key to me.
Also, I need to hear those magical words, “I’m going to the University of Auburn!”
Other than that, I just want them to be as athletic as Cam or Nick Marshal.

Robby has always been a safety should have been there at Oregon. Some people are to stubborn to take good sound advice

You’re full of shite. Last year when it looked like we were getting McCall, I was all on the hype train. I still say McCall is the #2 guy, if they don’t land Cam Ward.

Cam Ward? Wtf. He completely goes against everything you say you want in a QB.
McCall I can see a pick for you but Ward doesn’t fill any of your personal athleticism requirements to be elite that you have stated.
I wouldn’t go for Cam Ward at all. My opinion he would stink in our offense

IMO the most important need is DL. I’d take Walter Nolan first over anyone on that list.

Cam ward is no athletic dynamo, but he can pick up yards when a play breaks down and he has great zip with good accuracy on his balls. I think the kid from Duke is the best fit that I've seen though. Grant McCall is third in my opinion.

I agree. WR, DL, DB in that order of importance for me. QB would be 4th. Then add at least 2 OL. And an edge probably on similar to McAllisters play but hopefully a little more production in the pass rush. But definitely an edge that can set the edge with tons of experience

Ward has the NIL offer, according to sauces. That’s why I said he’s #1. Not because he’s my first choice.

I’m not a Cam Ward fan. Just don’t think he would be a fit for our offense. He definitely has the experience.
The Cam Ward discussion was more about what jville has said he wants in a QB. Cam Ward isn’t that guy so wondered why he put him as top of his list. Same would go if he had put Dante Moore as his top pick. I would have asked why.
For me it’s Dante Moore then Grayson McCall. For Jville I thought for sure it would have been McCall and Gabriel in either order

Gabriel is either Oregon or Moo State bound.

Think Dante Moore is off the table. Seems to be down to 4 schools none of which are Auburn.
ETA: we’ve been seeing offers for other positions so why haven’t we seen any official offers for QB’s? Someone posted a couple days ago that Caldwell said Freeze was content with Thorne and Geriner. Is he just playing nice to the current QB room to prevent transfers or is there merit to what Caldwell said?

McCall is arguably the best fit, given the offense he ran under Chadwell at CC, which was basically the Triple out of shotgun.
I personally like Ward, and wanted us to get him 2 years ago, but he is definitely a better fit for whatever offense Harsin was running than a Freeze offense. That said, he's been fairly accurate his entire career (Worst season Comp % is 60 his freshman year at UIW). He could definitely sling the ball around to multiple receivers.
Moore, I like just because of the upside, and the fact that you'd get 2 years with him at least, compared to one with the other two.
Another one that interests me, but I think we have no shot of/no interest in is Aidan Chiles, the freshman from Oregon State. I think he's more likely to stay on the WC, or go to Michigan State with that staff.

I’m right there with you LCT for the same reasons. I only put Moore above McCall because of eligibility after next season. Plus it doesn’t put pressure on a redshirt freshman to be ready in White or a true freshman from the ‘25 class. We have to start developing high school QBs.

And honestly, your reaction was mine at first glance. Ward had less than 100 yards rushing the entire season.

I think he is plenty athletic for this style offense. He isn't a statue. Their offense just doesn't ask him to run and rarely designs a run for the QB. I think he would be very good in this offense. He is a legit DT QB, just isn't a Nick Marshall type athlete. I think he is probably similar to like JT Barrett athletically.
