quote:I know and I'm not bashing the kids or anything.. just stating a fact. So far this year, outside of a couple, most haven't done much. I think that's probably the case with every team. Its not always as simple as plug and play.. it takes time to adjust sometimes.. to learn new playbooks, coaches, teammates, just to get comfortable in general.
Also outside of Robinson or Robertson whatever the hell his name is most of the guys were brought in for multiple years or to be backups for this season. Eku, Harris, and Fair have all done their parts this year. Miller and Kaufman have probably been the most baffling however Kaufman is really young and inexperienced.
Knighten I'm not sure how to judge yet he played horrible the first game but seems to be playing a little better. Everyone looks good besides Smoke lol. Maybe Smoke can get it going and figure out in his head what is going on because I think we need him down the stretch

Robertson has 215 yards and 3 TDs
Fair has 3 tackles
Knighten has 12 tackles and an INT
Harris has 10 tackles, 3TFL, 1 sack
Kaufman has 7 tackles and 1 sack
Leota has 8 tackles, 3 sacks
Miller has not played
Ingram has 8 yards in 1 game
Miller and Fair haven’t done as much as expected but otherwise the guys brought in have contributed meaningfully

looked up Auburn fan’s favorite RB Harold Joiner to see how he was doing at Michigan State and saw he had 12 yards on the year.
I member when everyone on the board thought this guy would be great, even tho he was soft as hell

AL.com used to do a weekly article keeping track with how all the former Auburn players who transferred out were doing.
I haven't noticed it this season, it may have become too much to keep up with

quote:He was a role, but he was also off the field most of the night against LSU. He's just a big guy you can plug in there to take up some space. He's not going to make many plays, but we all knew that just because he's a 350 Lb NT.
I think we would’ve hurting even more without him.

With the injury to Wright... Fair and Robertson were the only must start guys. Fair has done his job very well so far he's done what we expected of him. Robertson probably the same but we "needed" him to be the number 1 WR he just isn't for a big time SEC team. Essentially our 3 starters at this point at WR are all number 3 guys on any other team.

I think we really need a pic six machine for this season.

He already has one. Ack nicely and you might get it.

How much of Robertson yards came in the 2 scrub games vs the LSU and Penn St games? Don't get me wrong, he's been ok and better than I thought he would be, but he's just been ok.
Knighten was basically benched earlier this year and lost his starting job to Puckett. He's done a good job of working his way into the rotation more the past couple of weeks an he's a decent part of the rotation, but he's just ok.

I suspect he will see the field a lot Saturday. No sense is putting a guy like him in against a team like LSU that is going to throw the whole game.

Smoke really does suck

The last player that frustrates me as much is Neiko fricking Thorpe. I am astonished he had as long an NFL career as he did.

Important part is that the staff replaced guys who are mostly not playing elsewhere (and likely wouldn’t have played in Auburn) with guys that are producing for the team. Doesn’t look like we found any stars in the portal but that’s not really what they were looking for to begin with
Stats paint the picture both ways. It’s striking how many guys that have transferred from Auburn in recent years have just done nothing at all. There’s a huge difference between some production and zero production from a roster spot. The transfers in might not be lighting the stat sheet on fire but they’re mostly all contributing (except Miller) and generating production. Absolutely huge

DL Jaren Handy has 8 tackles for Indiana
DL Jay Hardy has played for Liberty
S Chris Thompson Jr has 4 tackles at USCw
WR Hal Presley has 13 yards rushing for Baylor
RB Asa Martin has 65 yards rushing at Memphis
CB Marco Domio has 4 tackles at UCF
CB Kamal Hadden has played 1 game at Tennessee, no stats
DL Coynis Miller has not played at Jackson State
S Matthew Hill has 34 tackles and an INT at USF
RB Boobee Whitlow is back in the portal
QB Chayill Garnett has not played at Tenn State
OL Kamaar Bell has 2 starts at FAU
RB MAR has 24 yards rushing at UCF
DL Big Kat has 13 tackles, 0 sacks at UCF
RB Harold Joiner has 12 yards rushing, 9 receiving at Michigan State
RB DJ Williams has not played at FSU
LB OC Brothers has 5 tackles at Purdue
LB Josh Marsh has 22 tackles and 0.5 sacks for Northern Arizona
QB Cord Sandberg has 20 yards passing for EKU
QB Joey Gatewood has 55 yards rushing for UCF
This is everyone I could find. Happy to see Matthew Hill find meaningful playing time. Otherwise, mostly nothing across the board from recent transfers. Malik Willis is the exception

You didn’t include Cam’ron Kelly nor Fuqua.
Fuqua plays for Jax State and returned a turnover for a touchdown against FSU.

Good call. Hard to believe Cam’ron Kelly is in his 3rd season at UNC. 79 tackles and 1 INT in that span. Most from the last two seasons
Kolbi Fuqua has 18 tackles and 1 INT, and that play against FSU in 2 seasons at JSU
I’m sure there’s more too

Most of these listed are just depth players, not so many quality players.
Cornis, Hill, and Kelly could’ve been quality if they stayed put. Hill was a disappointment too

He had 6 receptions for 60 yards against LSU. Nothing mind-blowing, but he's playing an obvious role on the team.
