Big loss for us.. I said many times last year during his recruitment that if he was a couple inches taller and weighed a little more than he would have been the top S recruit in the country.
I bet he goes to Miami now and I bet he turned into a REALLY good player for them. I expected some DB transfers and TE still too.. this one sucks though.
Edit- He could end up at Fla too. It will be 1 of those 2 schools.

He was a true freshman last year and one of the top S recruits in the country. Harsin, so far, very rarely plays freshman.. is there any reason to say he won't be good?

Eli Ricks the fresh all american DB from LSU transfers to bama. Guess Saban was pissed about those missed coverages in the SEC championship.
The portal now seems to be about, not getting the best player, but getting the best player from your rivals so its a double blow.

And the ones he has played have been pretty damn good which leads me to believe he’s all for playing freshmen if they can actually contribute right away.

If he was in line to compete for playing time, then he wouldn't be transferring. And if he was "one of the best safeties", he would have been in line for playing time. It sounds like he was gently "processed", and bringing in a JUCO safety speaks volumes.
