It is not that I am against KS and if Patterson, Peterson and Petrino turned us down then KS does not look so bad.

I am just having a hard time wrapping my mind around hiring KS when Petrino is still out there.

The fact of the matter is we were pissed when Chizik was hired because of his 5-19 record

I was fine with his record at ISU. I figured he accepted a tough challenge and probably had made some mistakes he wished he could get back. We gave him a clean slate, a reset. We all saw how that turned out. I was wrong.

Your talking about the same fan base that when a fat gut in a I hate Auburn shirt wore it to SEC Media Days to impress Saban he was mad cause Saban did not agree

Yeah, but the guy was also on the radio talking about just how small and embarrassed he felt when Saban addressed him.

My point being is Saban could say War Eagle, and a percentage would swallow their pride and say it as well.

We went after a proven head coach (possible two) and they both decided to stay where they are. We are now down to assistants. Petrino never had a chance as DJG does not want him hired.

1a) Jimbo (Told us and UT - NO)
1b) Patterson (Told us and Arkie - No)
3) Smart (no answer yet)
4) Malzahn (Not offered)
5) Petrino (never a true candidate regardless of what the rivals site was pushing).
6) Strong (very interesting as he is getting some interest from UT, Arkie, but not much from Auburn.

Who else should we go after?

Reading the tea leaves, it looks as though it's Kirby's job if he wants it and Malzahn's if Kirby decides to stay put. If both passed, shite would really, really hit the fan in regards to Jacobs.

Head coaches that have a losing record against Saban can't win.

Tuberville was 3-2 against Saban while he was with the LSU Tigers, and had won two of the last three.

Alabama didn't seem to care if their coach had a losing record against their rival.

12 - coordinator, no head coaching experience

I had hope we might show some interest in Greg Roman the OC for the 49ers. He's a West Coast guy but could have been a good "outside the box" candidate. Think Auburn would have benefited from some "Harbaugh Crazy"
