Just saw that come across my Facebook feed. Although I didn't know him he was a familiar and comforting Auburn voice that I listened to for many years.

quote]AUBURN, Ala. (WAKA) – Auburn University has announced the death of sports broadcaster Paul Ellen.

Ellen began his broadcasting career in Haley Center on campus. The university says he was part of the group that literally built the WEGL radio station nearly 50 years ago.

He went on to call Auburn baseball games and was part of a College World Series team featuring Joe Beckwith and Terry Leach.

For two years, he called Auburn football games, then returned to the Tigers’ broadcast booth in 1990, hosting Auburn football broadcasts for more than 30 years.

Ellen was 75.

Details about his death haven’t yet been announced.[/quote] Link to Waka TV news

Man, it would be cool as hell for the boys to win it all this year in his honor.

RIP Mr. Ellen. A true Auburn Man.
