Evidently TJ Finley retweeted this. Kind of insane how poor our pass protection was from a historical perspective.

Now we can't do anything on either Offense or Defense when it comes to pass pressure

Watching Nerds breakdown and all the free rushers they got was absolutely insane.

I wonder if this has anything to do with them announcing TJ wont be starting?

TJ is injured or banged up what ever. He is in a sling.

Yes blitz pickup was horrendous. Recognizing the blitz was horrible. QB has to know hot reads and checks and thought that is why TJ was starting

He was clearly hurt during the game. I still stand by my comment Saturday that TJ played better than he’s getting credit for. He actually looked more mobile than I thought he could be, but he’s just a sitting duck behind this offensive line

TJ has looked better than he did last year for sure. The issue is NOT at the QB spot. The issue is squarely with the OL, coaching of the OL, and recruiting of the OL.

TJ has played bad. Don’t get it twisted effort doesn’t mean good play. There has been no good play on any level of the team. None. Not one player. Not Tank not Hall, not DJ James, not Colby and they have been our best players

Hmm? What do you mean by "good play" here? I'd say there are particular players who have played well, particularly the RBs as a unit.

Oh, this is certainly part of the problem. Why are you calling for pass plays when pass blocking is obviously a challenge? I still say they should line up in the Notre Dame box and go full option. Do it until you get the people that can do something else. Coach the talent or lack of talent you have.

Like no one has played well.

Running backs missed holes on the the zone scheme, missed blitz pickup, how many drops of easy passes has tank had I know of 2 that would have continued drives. Like I said don’t confuse effort with good play. Good play is great execution with maximum effort.

There have been some individual moments by a few players and yes running backs are some of those individual moments. Hall Eku Wooden Sj James and Scott have had some nice moments but playing well isn’t 1 play that jumps out it’s 40 good plays out of 48. Same with offensive side. For those that are like TJ is better. How? He’s showing effort great. He’s what 5 INT and 1TD. With 2 cupcakes under his belt. That’s horrible play.

BMatt says that while TJ is banged up, TJ not starting is more about giving others the oppty.

I’m sure if TJ was 10 TDs 1INT completing 68% he would play this weekend.

So has his shoulder been having issues interesting to see him with the rotor strengthening device prior to the game

YES. Anybody that truly knows football, can see the issues stem for the o-line play.

Got it - to say literally nobody on the team has played well is overzealous.

In that case I'd say the RBs have played well, particularly Tank who has over 6 ypc which is insane on a team this bad when the entire defense knows you're the best player. He's also 3rd on the team in receiving yards.

Others who I've argued "played well" but with less consistency - Johnson (WR), Wooden (E), Hall (E), Riley (LB) which doesn't matter so much when so much of the team plays poorly.

Note: I don't think TJ would be some amazing QB with a good Oline, but he really hasn't had a fair shake behind this Oline and neither did Bo.

I saw one play where Tank stayed in to help block, the middle linebacker blitzed, darn near bounced Tank as he passed him, who was looking to the right and oblivious and went over to help three linemen block two rushers while the lb tried to break TJ in half.

After the play TJ came up to tank and gave him the ole "dude" dude almost decapitated me, could you look around for someone to block before you hide over there???

Chuckled remembering an ole ball coach who used to hold out RBs who couldnt figure out how to block...

Yea I definitely wouldn't say blocking is his strength - if I were him I'd make that + my hands a personal focus for getting to the league.

Are we going to acknowledge what a dick move this is for TJ to publicly throw his line under the bus? Zero leadership. Stop saying he has improved, he is just as terrible as the line and wouldn’t start for a single SEC team. The guy is afraid to throw the ball half the time.

I know for a fact TJ’s two INTs against Mercer he was under no durress whatsoever. He stood calmly back there with great fundamentals and fired to the wrong team twice. The whole running for his life part is where I feel bad for him.
