I was on a twitter space today and someone said Big Kat would skip practice until Thursday, do walk through on Friday, then play Sat under Gus.

Don’t believe everything you hear or read. Twitter spaces give anybody that cares a platform.

Jang, I was not a Bo fan. That is documented. I am very empathetic to him now. I see why he left. We are in a world of hurt.
Oh, and op doesn’t know shite.

I supported Gus until he was fired. Now I support Harsin. I did not like our inability to close during some games this year but I like him a lot otherwise. I think he is going to get everything out of these kids and when he’s winning with 3/4 star recruits, the 5 stars will come. The really good ones with good attitudes. You see, that’s how it works if you are building a program and not just chasing the next great recruit that doesn’t fit in. But hey, we need this recruiting rankings guys. Those win titles you know.

I don’t think firing Harsin was a good move but it’s inevitable that he leaves or gets fired soon. It’s been made public how little support he has from the PTB. I think they knew this is what would happen, he already wasn’t a good recruiter how does he look in a recruits face and say he will be he more much longer at this point.

I opened the door for legit discussion in the nothing has happened thread to give me something Harsin has done right since getting here. This soft culture bullshite is exactly that bullshite.
I actually saw Gus chew more arse on the sideline then Harsin. Was Gus’s players out getting in trouble? Nope. Did we make tons of mental mistakes in games? Nope. Turnovers? Penalties? Nope. So shut the frick up with the soft shite. Don’t have a clue what it’s like to coach a group of young men. You can be a hard arse. Hell I’m a hard arse but you better be relatable as well. Your players even your worst players better know you love and care about them.
So someone explain this soft culture thing to me. I don’t see it.

Good luck getting a real explanation from the "soft culture" crowd. I guess whenever Hars actually gets around to addressing the deficits on the team (OL, WR, etc) with "his players", we'll see what they were talking about.

I feel like good recruiting and not having 25% of your roster transfer out isn't really asking a lot

Harsin might not be the right guy for AU, but prior we were #10 in recruiting and getting #35 results. Maybe now we get #20 recruiting classes and #10 results.

Harsin may have brought hard school discipline with him to AU. In the past that has probably been a positive thing. What he didn’t plan for was the stupid transfer portal. Hard to change anyone if they can take an easy way out.

quote:Let me tell you why I think this is BS and it was Eli Gravitt who said it, who is riding Harsin so hard the man is damn near raw at this point... Big Kat was hurt most of that year. Of course he missed practice. It happens a lot. The coaches hold a player out during the week so they can play on game day. It especially happens with older guys who already know the system. Eli Gravitt is just as much of a problem as all the other fake insiders.

One thing I don't understand.. Why does the support for Harsin come with the trashing of players? If you want to support Harsin, fine, but don't tear down other people to do it.

No wonder he never reached his potential… Gus’ players are as soft as charmin.

This is a Facebook post from one of the best to ever do it at Auburn, Chantel Tremitiere. Look her up if you don't know that name or her basketball teams at AU.

Coach Ciampi coached us hard as HELL every single day, and most days I hated him for that. But THAT wasn’t why we were so good. We were THAT good because no matter how hard he COACHED us, we ALL KNEW how much he CARED about us as people.
At the end of the day, I’m not runnin through a wall for a coach who just screams. I’m runnin through a wall for the coach who I know CARES about me behind those screams.
TRUE athletes know there is a difference.
