There has been improvement. Young guys look pretty good. You aren't going to change the past 4 years over night. Auburn is very below average at the LB position.

There are flashes of good d, but way too inconsistent. The d line is up and down. The secondary is vastly improved and pretty good. The lbs are unacceptably bad.

The D isn't world beaters, but there are definite vast improvements over last year. You can't really do shite without a MLB. The young D linemen are getting pressure at times, and the CBs are actually making plays on the ball. I'm also seeing far fewer missed tackles excluding Holland.

We have 2 weeks to prepare for Bro Wallace. He'll still probably gash us on the ground

Tre Williams will be a nice addition.

The most important single recruit since Cam Newton IMO.

You're looking at total D on a team with the HUNH. You'll always be depressed if you look at that number, it's just the reality of the situation.

The safety position looked bad also. At least one of those long runs was Whitehead's fault. He sucks too.

You must've missed his INT then... Great play on the ball.

Meh. He is still directly responsible for 7 points on the board

It's not like Hill magically appeared in the secondary EDIT: That play was a lost cause before Hill even reached Whitehead's area

I don't accept this ascertion. While we might not ever be the number one defense in the league, I think we can be a top five defense.

LSU's OL is going to open those holes against everybody. It is the safties job to limit those plays to 10-15 yard gains instead of long Td runs. Whitehead and especially Holsey are playing out of position but they have to limit those gains. They both missed tackles on long runs by Hill and have struggled all year in run support.

You have to blame LB play. Safeties shouldn't be called upon as many time as ours to try and help stop the run. It's simply not their job. I don't care if we're playing LSU or directional state.

Three of the four offenses we have faced this year are pretty good. Those teams are going to put yards and points up on most all defenses not just ours.

Well that us simply not true. And shows how little you actually know about football.

Arkansas St. and Washington St. shouldn't be moving the ball like that against good SEC defenses on the road, and Wazzu and Miss. St. were both one-dimensional. I'll give you LSU. That offensive line is good, and those backs are beastly.
But what else does it have to take to get Montravius Adams and Kris Frost as the anchor of our defense up the middle? Am I missing something? Adams may be a little raw, but he's an absolute beast at DT. He gets in the backfield every other play it seems and wreaks a lot of havoc. And how many more times do the coaches have to watch Jake Holland just flat out suck before Frost gets a shot as the full-time starter? Frost may not always be exactly where he's supposed to be, but Holland is seemingly always where he's supposed to be, yet can't ever make a play. Frost is supremely athletic and can run. Our defense is what it is for the most part, but it's time to give the majority of the reps to our best players.
Watching our upperclassmen get blown off the ball and completely whiff on most tackles is getting very old.
