Jaheim Thomas.. the Transfer from Cincy just committed to Ark. Kind of out of nowhere, but TWill is good at his job for a reason. We should still be ok with the other guys we are after though.

One thing about Thomas. He mentioned it and the guys on ON3 mentioned it before, but we we're recruiting him to play inside LB. We already have decent depth there, so that could have been a factor. I think we like Ukwu and McLeod at the edge/jack spots more.

He's still with us, but he's a grad transfer so he can enter any time.

Grad transfers may not enter at anytime. As of August of last year they actually must follow the same deadlines as the normal portal deadlines.
However, the NCAA will be meeting to discuss grad transfers again and this may change.

Yes they can, but to be eligible for fall sports they have a deadline, this year it was May 1.
They made that rule change in September 2022.

I suspect he’ll grad transfer after he graduates and either sit out elsewhere or get a waiver if that May 1 deadline rule isn’t or wasn’t changed.

I have less confidence in the current regime if TJ is hanging around.

TJ scholarship will be done in the spring. We wont roll into fall with 5 scholly QBs fellas. Relax.
Interesting they we are pursuing a LB still. They wanted 4 or 5 in the rotation, so Keys, Riley, Woodyard....and the rest must not be up to snuff?
We will find us another Jack, the two we are looking at would do fine.

Thompson spent all day with players and coaches. Seems like he may be the guy. Heard they were impressed with how his workout went.
I was worried about his shoulder/pec coming in. Another Calzada experiment would be disastrous.

There is a lot of confusion around the wording of the updated rules with respect to grad transfers. I've heard that they still get to enter the portal AFTER they graduate. I can't imagine that TJ Finley chose to not enter if he was in fact bound by the same rules as everyone else. He's not starting and the obvious visit of Thompson and alleged interest in the MSU kid confirms all of that.

Had the same thoughts regarding the shoulder and Calzada 2.0 smuphy.
Sounds like it went really well. What a weight off the coaches shoulders if this gets done and he can get cracking on some summer workouts with the team.

So they did end up changing what they decided in August. I didn’t know it already happened. Thanks
Looks like the windows don’t apply but they do have a deadline to declare they will transfer as a graduate.

"MattbeGreat" In his latest video said Casey to Auburn with Hugh Freeze would be a match made in Heaven. He also said his numbers last season were great considering he had one of the worst lines in college football.
