I'd like to see him get hired by Carroll to coach the Seahawks. Kiffin seems like he'd enjoy a few months off a year in the NFL vs 24/7/365 in college

Not sure if it’s been mentioned here, but if freeze knew Saban was retiring and purposefully waited for their players to come available it’s a genius move.

That’s a good point, they are considered friends in some way.

From everything I've heard people at Bama where shocked and he didn't let them Know until 4pm. This sounds like a rare miracle.

Also, would make sense as to why we went After Charles Kelly and potentially Trob so quickly.

I do not believe that at all, because Rumors had already hit the message boards at that point.

I think very few knew.

Then at the end of the season he probably hinted to people like Kirby to kinda say it’s going to happen without confirming it.

He kept doing recruiting and pretending to interview people to make sure everything appeared normal. I’m sure he wanted to leave Bama in as best shape as possible

He still was interviewing WR coaches today. Maybe they just knew he was thinking about leaving BUT he made the final decision today?

Marty Smith said he talked to people inside the bama AD a few days ago. This caught them with their pants down.

But who in the AD office. I could absolutely see the AD knowing and not saying a word to the rank and file to keep it confidential during signing period.

There will be no way you convince me Saban left them high and dry without anyone knowing. Unless he or Terry were diagnosed with something today, I won’t believe it.

He happens to retire on the first day classes start at the end of the day? I’m assuming there’s some advantage to waiting till your class enrolls to make it harder to transfer or something.

I guess we can see how long it takes them to hire somebody.

Exactly. When I say very few I mean like 2 or 3.

the scroll on the bottom of SECN claimed he was interviewing possible assistants a few hours before he informed the team. This was not some planned elaborate scheme. In this day and age, there is no way in hell it would have stayed quiet.

I’m aware and already addressed that

I disagree with you. I think Saban cares enough about Alabama and has been strategic in his leaving the program with only those needing to know. That’s the point and why in fact it was kept quiet. They knew the ramifications to their program and recruiting should it be leaked.

No way Saban does Bama like that and you watch the video weagle posted and you will see he knew for a bit he was leaving. At least a couple or three months.
