Any chance Payton improves in year two?

How much do you think a 5th year senior will improve? We’re not talking about a freshman or sophomore here.

Besides for Williams are we awaiting/expecting any other targets to sign, which would count towards the 24 class rankings?
Hugh just repeated^ that he didn't know if it was the right method, but so far he'd mainly concentrated on HS recruiting. And that he' now looking at what's left. Plus we'll know who's leaving.

Joe Burrow Year 4:
219/379 (.578) 2894 yds 16 TD's, 5 INT's, 133.2 passer rating
Joe Burrow Year 5:
402/527 (.763) 5671 yds 60 TD's, 6 INT's, 202.0 passer rating

I just hope he's better but gonna pretend in my head he's gonna make a Burrow sized leap with improved weapons

How much did Jason Campbell improve when he had a system that works, and the right mix of people? Again, non of us are saying that Peyton is a Hiesman candidate, but you speak like he can't be an average or solid option. That's all we need for now until our younger talent develops. He's nothing more than a capable bridge like Greg McElroy at Bama.

Thorne's ceiling can easily be his freshman year considering he has already done that.

Joe Burrow was not in college 5 years, and his Junior year at LSU would’ve been one of the best in Auburn history. His numbers also made a jump from his sophomore to senior years. PT’s numbers have steadily declined since his sophomore year.

lol yes he was. His first year was 2015. 2019 was his fifth year.

How are you so wrong on even basic information.

You’re right. I only saw his stats. He must’ve redshirted. He didn’t record a single stat in 2015. The rest of the post, I see you didn’t refute though.

His stats were not massively different from 2003 to 2004. Campbell threw for nearly 2300 yards in 2003 and 2700 yards in 2004. You could always see that Campbell had all the tools though. Hence why he was drafted in the first round.

If the rest of the team was loaded like uat in 2009-2010, you might have a point.

I think the common misconception is that it’s “Peyton”, not Payton, and people start having unrealistic expectations

The rest of our lineup having holes does not necessitate going to the transfer portal for a QB for like the 4th year in a row either. We aren't going to find a hero at this point. We need to replace that Gunner Britton dude, Justin Rogers, and so on.

I mean Joe Burrow seemed to improve his final year, is that what you mean? Course it was his second year in the system, his line played better, and his receivers played a lot better. Wait a minute, that was a trick question wasnt it, its the same situation with Thorne. Ah ya got me on that one.

I agree with ya, Thorne will be much improved due to those around him.

Dude is such a well spoken young man! I am so pumped we are getting him, Cam and the others. Really excited and looking forward to seeing them in person at a game at JHS.

Joe Burrow’s numbers in 2018 would’ve had one of the best years in Auburn history. PT just had one of the worst in Auburn history. You trying to compare Burrow to PT is laughable. It’s not the same situation at all.

This Jang. Really hate we missed on those first two OL. We have some good young OL but I think if we dont find a tackle in the portal Wade will have to stay at left tackle.

DL I think DJ Reed will move into the Harris spot along with Faulk who they will move inside. But we dont have a nose at all and Jayson Jones is okay but we sure could have used that Harmon kid from Michigan State.

Means we will be starting and rotating true freshmen on the strongside and rotating in freshmen on the Edge side

If we just had Alpine, he could find us a big ole west coast Samoan

On the bright side, with this monster DL class already committed for 25, when Freeze says you will play early....you will be playing early.

Listening to Freeze’s press conference, he admits that he’s not good dealing with the portal. He reiterated that he put all his effort into the high school class, and that he’s missed on a lot of targets already. He also talked about getting the Jackson 5 kid. Sounds like he was shocked some WRs entered the portal, and he scrambled to find someone. I’m guessing JJ entering caught him off guard. Seems like Freeze needs to hire some staff to focus solely on the portal for him, so he can continue doing his thing in high school.
