No one has simped harder or longer than you for Ashford.

Hell, Robby's mom is embarrassed that she doesn't love him as much as you do.

Honestly wasn’t trying to. There’s a time and a place. I stick to the SECR for that.

I just want to know the logic of thinking that the coaching staff would purposely pick the inferior player when their jobs and livelihood are on the line. I get anyone saying they don't like Peyton, but going so hard for Ashford is just insanity. Anyway, Cam Coleman, Cam Coleman, Cam Coleman, Cam Coleman. Just wanted to say that to cleanse myself of this repetitive and sad argument lololol

"He’s been playing for 4 years now. You can have optimism, but he’s going to be what he already is."

I'm gonna give you the benefit of doubt and presume you are young. Jason Campbell, Brandon Cox, even Cam Newton come to mind just recently of quarterbacks who only looked real good at the end of their college careers. And there is no debate that Thorne progressed as the season went on.

Anyone who can practically think through how a supporting cast (OL, stud TE/WRs and RBs) can make a QB look really great only need to take a look at Bryce Young.

Heisman trophy winner with video game numbers in college who is getting destroyed in the NFL. Fact of the matter is he was basically standing behind a fort and picking and choosing his receivers and throwing the ball in college.

I was pretty harsh on PT but later on just accepted it is what it is and he did ok down the stretch. If no one wants to come to our program, I don’t know what we could do other than ride that horse one last time but maybe this time with some better weapons and protection.

I would be thrilled if we could get a true DT QB with some wheels who can run the RPOs which will be devastating under Freeze, but it’s just a waiting game now to see what transpires.

Comparisons between PT and RA are just futile now. If RA is not willing to change positions and try other ways to make plays, he should just be nudged out once he graduates. He would do well in some smaller schools.

Sigh…again, PT is in his 4th year. This is the end.

There’s plenty of debate. He went 5-16 passing in the IB.

And played really well doing it. Amazing you can look at Robby stats and play mental gymnastics but are completely incapable of doing so with Thorne

Your first statement reinforces my point so I guess you agree.

Without that muffed punt I doubt you are referencing iron bowl stats. Thorne did what it took to win the game.

he even bailed out Robby and Freeze by picking up that 2nd and 17 after Robby moved us out of FG range with his playing time efforts

It's really hard to ignore 2 int's and 91 yards of passing in a game that was so close to being won though.

one being a hail mary at the end of the half, but yeah totally a game changing INT

eta: and the other being with seconds on the clock after blowing the game on 4th and 31. But yeah, Thornes picks were very impactful

I didn't say anything about "game changing". But to pretend Jax is the only one doing mental gymnastics is laughable.

There you go simping, when you were shouting from the rooftops when Ashford threw his only INT of the season on a Hail Mary right before halftime against ole miss.

That logic indicates Milroe is only barely any better than Thorne and I doubt you believe that.

really hard to ignore the pick that had no impact on the game whatsoever.

Stop pretending Im doing gymnastics by stating facts. If you want to shite on him for not being able to lead the team to victory in the final seconds of the game with our WRs, go for it bud.

Milroe was 16-24 for 259 yards and 2 TD's. There's no comparison.

are you suspending your memory when Robby threw the ball directly into the defenders hands only to be dropped in his limited touches? I remember. Do you?

Enough. Robby Ashford will go down as the worst Qb in Auburn history statistically. Deal with it. Thorne will get another shot at being the starter, with or without a portal guy this cycle. Deal with it.

Oh, we’re playing that game? I guess you can add at least 6 more INTs to PT’s 10 INTs on the season then. He had several dropped by defenders. You’re funny.

And yet, Ashford’s 2022 stats are almost identical to PT 2023 (with Ashford starting fewer games). Oof
