Seems too coincidental that our decommitments are coinciding with our team looking hapless. Hopefully we can recapture some momentum on and the field this weekend.
I’m always skeptical anytime we cut ties with someone unless there’s an obvious reason.
Who are we making room for if so?

In some positive news, Auburn seems to be surging still for Bama commitment, 4* DL Jeremiah Beamon.
Would be a huge flip. #79 overall and a top 10 DL for the class. We just landed his ‘25 teammate and he has been visiting a ton this fall

We may not know for a while. We do know that 3* DB Kaleb Harris is likely to commit soon, possibly this weekend. He has been in motion for a bit, though.
I too am skeptical of these things
Unrelated - 4* TE Kylan Fox is an emerging target that is expected to visit for Ole Miss this weekend. Currently committed to UCF

Harris and Robinson.
TJ Lindsay looks like he’s probably staying in state. Really need that kid. I think he commits this weekend.

That's always my question too. To my point from last week, outside of flips there's not much left out there. Beamon would be a big time start

Corch, i think TJ is already committed to the good guys.

I think corch meant LJ McCray

Gonna be a lot of flips, unfortunately. Which kinda suck to rely on. It’s a function of these NIL deals being locked in earlier and earlier and it’s gonna go both ways for everyone

Not to get us off topic, but does anyone know the status of our NIL?
Obviously not good. #17 ranked class with a recruiter like Freeze speaks volumes.
Our fanbase isn’t serious about winning. They’d rather complain than give money.

I don't really think that's fair to the fanbase. We have a much smaller enrollment than many of our rivals and not being a state school far fewer sidewalks like someone pointed out earlier. Alabama is also a pretty low income state with a relatively modest population. Any rational thinker should have foreseen this would be a difficult environment for auburn to thrive in.

Correct my bad

Better embrace Thorne then

Out of people who could flip, losing a corner isn't the end of the world to me. Desperately need those OL/DL though.
Hopefully we're saving some NIL for the transfer portal.

Auburn people have plenty of money. The monthly minimum is less than what a couple would spend going to the movies. I enjoy Auburn football and basketball more then I do any movie sooo…

I think they were looking at Lewis being a safety. I also think Lewis and Auburn are both looking around and AU has Harris higher on their board than Lewis now. I don’t think Lewis has done anything to lower himself just think Harris is more what they are looking for in that safety spot

The NIL boogeyman is just a silly argument right now. The only SEC teams that has a higher ranked NIL collective according to On3 that is also currently ranked ahead of us in recruiting, is Tennessee and A&M. At end of last year, SI had our collective ranked as 4th in the SEC.
It is just a convenient scapegoat for the same people that will complain no matter what. Do we need to keep funding it and growing it? Absolutely, it can always be better. It is not what is holding back our recruiting right now.

McCray would be a monumental get. Are there any chances?

Waller, Franklin, and possibly losing Carter to Texas would all be results of NIL.
I also think KJ Bolden went to the highest bidder

I think it’s FSU, UF, Miami, AU currently in that order. Next couple days I’m sure some schools will scramble to outbid the others.

Are we going to ignore the players we got because of ours or is the NIL only responsible for the players lost?
We aren't going to be the highest bidder on every recruit. It just isn't a reasonable expectation. We are also in a much worse position than most of these programs, so we have a much wider group we have to spread funds to to try and fix our roster. So, if we want to blame our NIL for that and not being high enough to be the highest bidder on every player we are after, then fine, but that isn't any more reasonable of an argument.
Either way, apologies for derailing conversation again. I'll move any more NIL discussions to the other thread.
