We need to be landing 3-4 top 250 offensive lineman per class if we want our offensive line to turn around. That’s what Chizik did and we had really good offensive lines for a few years until Malzahn took over and quit recruiting offensive tackles.

I 'll accept that! So which do we think is most reflective? The mean, the mode or the median?

BTW that is the extent of what I remember about math so anyone else please feel free to let me know what our mode and median are since --- well, when would be a good starting point?

Fans need to step up and foot some of the money. It’s plain as day. It’s not Raine or Harbert’s total responsibility. You want to get big time recruits do your part. If you aren’t you’re just running off at the mouth. Because others will pay at other schools as well.

We need to be the standard bearer of the collective. How many years have people complained about the REC regardless if legal or illegal… now it’s legal. Time to put up or shut up. And that’s not for someone that can’t pay their bills or can’t feed their family. Cut back a 6 pack a week if winning means that much to you
Auburn needs to work with the collective(s) and find a way to make contributions to NIL "count" for booster priority in some way. Whether that's ticket priority, special access, pregame tent access, parking, or something else. Competitive NIL is as important or potentially even more important than competitive coaches salaries.

I think its hard to base Auburn footballs potential off their all time record. The record indicates an average program. The reality is actually really good runs followed by really bad seasons. Rinse and repeat. It takes the right administration and staff to have sustained success. Sustained success is hard to come by.
Auburn's winning percentage is top ~15 of major CFB programs. I pulled out teams like Harvard for reference. See below. It's a pretty elite group. I did a deep dive on the numbers a while back of "CFB Overall Tier List" and I would argue Auburn is in "Tier 2" with arguably an all-time "Tier 1" of only Alabama, Ohio State, Michigan, and ND when factoring overall wins, weeks in top 25, national titles, etc...

Ohio State
Michigan
Alabama
Notre Dame
Oklahoma
Texas
USC
Penn State
Nebraska
Tennessee
Georgia
LSU
Miami (FL)
Florida
Auburn

Yea I've seen that before. When I looked at it I used that, winning %, national titles and conference titles I believe. No matter how you cut it pretty much AU is a top 12-20 program all-time. However, there are some top programs that have absolutely fallen off... with Nebraska being the big one. Unreal how that data looks pre-2001 and post-2001 for Nebraska.

That said - I'm excited to get these WRs on the plains!

That pre period was the Husker Power era.

Bunch of roided up linemen, running backs, and linebackers

Yea if you look at the data from about 1960 - 2001 Nebraska was THE team... It's pretty hilarious how far and away better they were than everyone else over that period. It's like they're program just broke in 2001 and it's been irrelevant since.

As the NCAA ramped up its drug testing policy....they met Nebraska on the down ramp.

Whoops I see some of you beat me to it. The NFL knew it before the NCAA ramped up. Nebraska players never improved when they got to NFL programs, and digressed (as their testing ramped up prior to NCAA), and were very prone to injury.

I mean during the waning years of the Big 12 and their early years in the Big 10, they were still a pretty decent program - but not being in the Texas recruiting area broke them.

It restricted them to a level that they can't bounce back from, leaving the Big 12 doomed them as well

Just wanted to say something about this Nebraska discussion

From someone who has never posted or really ever used Reddit, why its format so bad? It looks like something out of the 90's.

It's hard as hell to read and figure out what the hell is going on.

You’re just old. But I agree I don’t use Reddit ever. Way too many idiots in there.

As far as recruiting the coaches are working their asses off trying to close out this class and going hard after the ‘25 kids.

And a lot is going on behind the scenes not in public to try to get some more studs.

Ok Caleb Odom. We are hard after. Like extremely hard. If we land him we will then probably have the lead for his QB. Which will be a top QB

Portal entry window shrank finally

It’s being reduced to 30 days after the season and 15 days after spring

Is that a good thing for us currently? I think we still have 2 seasons of portal guys. And then obviously have to cherry pick 4-5 every year with attrition

Ultimately I see it as good. Players will need to choose quickly and allow coaches to roster manage more effectively
