Can't see anything that makes people think he will make huge improvements. Ashford is a far worse passer. It must be mindblowing how bad Geriner looks in practice if he is buried behind these 2 clowns

Unless they start opening up the playbook, they’re not showing anything that would entice a QB to come.

In a way I think desperate Auburn fans want a passing offense that looks normal. They are tired of stuck in mud. They see mr heisman accumulate 40 touchdowns in Oregon, but was routinely somewhere around 18 total touchdowns here. So they see this Thorne cat has already thrown 49 TDs and 24 interceptions and think okay that is the recipe to get our offense back. 20-63 and 335 passing yards- our offense is back baby.

Competition is going to be tougher here and I expect both numbers to keep climbing. Thorne was actually the worst graded QB by PFF in week 2. Even milroe beat him up out.

I dont think an increase in passing touchdowns is as much of positive for Thorne as fans want it to be. Yes, he might have more touchdowns than the risk-adversed, but that does not mean the other qb did not lead the team to points. For all we know, the other qb throws the ball out of bounds on second down, allowing the drive to continue, and on the third the running back ran in for
the score himself.

So since he was heavy on both- the touchdowns and turnovers maybe last game is the spitting image of his career so far.

Does 2 passing touchdowns cancel out 2 turnovers?
you tell me.

What I also saw was that Thorne seemed gun shy on some passes, looking hesitant to throw and then we he threw they were too late. Stuff like that suggest he isnt some maverick- some brett favre or Josh Allen that throw for many touchdowns and interceptions. I dont really know why he turns the ball over the way he does. He does not make the best decisions and sometimes his instincts gets him in a jam. I barely saw the play where Cal should have scored, but that was a poor decision where Thorne shouldve just ate it.

I am happy to say if Thorne is the best one then we have to ride with him though. If the others are inferior then they are disapointingly inferior.

Very often new QBs start looking much better games 3-4.

I'd come out against Samford and have Thorne throw the ball ~35 times. We know we could just run the ball against them and win... let's give the QB/receivers a ton of reps in a "real" game.

Seemed like we went to great lengths to avoid passing as much as possible. I want a QB that the staff and the QB both have the confidence he can make a fricking throw when we need it.

I thought Freeze pulled Thorne early in game one. I would like to see Holden get a number of snaps in the fourth quarter this week. Ashford has a role, but we aren't winning much if he is the one we are counting on.

I felt like this staff put Robby in the game to punish and show Thorne he better shape up or else. Freeze is in the process of trying to understand how to coach this QB in real time. Personally I think Thorne should play the full first three quarters against samford no matter the outcome. He needs to be allowed to screw up and work RedZone offense without the threat of being replaced for a Robby running TD. I'm looking forward to Walker White being able to HOPEFULLY run and pass at a high level so this won't be necessary.

He grew up pulling for FSU and they appear to be a playoff contender. There’s zero reason for him to choose Auburn.

You’re the same guy that criticizes a coaching staff for not going after higher ranked players. It’s a grind and they may have no chance, but glad they keep going after them.

It’s great spending time on highly ranked players… just not ones that are committed to their childhood favorite that happen to be a current top 3 team.

You will never get one five star if you don't go all in till the end. You just never know what might happen. If I gave up on customers because they were purchasing competitive gear, I would starve as a salesman. You can't have it both ways. There is something there that the coaches feel he is worthy of their time and resources.

In today's game, these kids may choose a school and be looking for another in a year or two. I say recruit every damn one of them.
