Well, he did flip Reed from LSU at a point when the program was floundering and he was interim HC. I remember a lot of the class and transfers that Freeze brought in saying their relationship with Caddy was big in their decision.
The guy is still relatively very young for a coach at a big time SEC program. He still has a lot of time to hone his craft.

I don’t think we as fans have enough info to make the judgement you are about Caddy. I have seen his name mentioned by recruits in their interviews after a visit outside of a RB.
With how well recruiting is going, I would find it difficult to criticize any of their output at this point. There may be some inefficiencies but there is nothing available to say where or by whom. Just my opinion.

There are definitely some better recruiters on staff than other areas, but Caddy isn't one of the weaker ones.
Crimedawg and Aldridge are the two best recruiters we have and Caddy falls somewhere close to them.

Caddy’s job is the RB room and everything else is gravy. I’ve been slightly critical of him in the past but I have zero complaints these days

I’m not complaining. I’m pointing out we need our biggest coaching name on the staff from the state of Alabama that his “region” is northern Alabama to land Alabama kid’s straight up without another coach doing a lot of the leg work. No complaints just observation. I love Caddy and he’s an Auburn treasure and basically untouchable. But no coach regardless of recent biases is above critique.

Birmingham metro is his area. That’s part of the northern region.
I’m not arguing this point just look at commits he’s gotten since being at AU.
I want a dominant program. And no I know we won’t get every player I just think Caddy could do more on the trail nothing more nothing less.

I didn’t take it as a complaint and I have no issue critiquing anyone. I simply am pointing out I don’t see what is causing you to make the criticism.
What am I missing that caddy is failing at in your mind? I’m not upset by it at all, just wanting to know what it’s based on?

It’s not always on who you miss on completely it’s who you are also not even in the running for.

Ok if you can’t look yourself then I don’t know how to help you. We have 5 years worth of info on Caddy as a recruiter. I don’t think it’s good enough for a position as easy as he coaches. I’ll make a list of essentially the kids we were in the running for in the past 5 years. Granted I know Coach G had a portion of central alabama when he was on staff. But list will be coming stand by will take a bit to gather
