Seems to be a really strong red zone target. Half his receptions last year were touchdowns. That's a wild stat.

Maybe 1 more receiver and edge or lb and freeze has hit a homerun this portal season.

UGA has moved up but Bama has not fallen off
The difference between their QB rooms tells me something is off. UGA is just stacking guys on top of guys and Bama had to reach into the portal for a mediocre dude. Not saying they are broke or anything, but I don't think they are spending to the level Ga is.

I like Shorter. I don't know if he will be an every down guy, but he should help with explosive plays which is something we've lacked.

Dont they have a 5* qb committed for this cycle? Saban has never really relied on huge quarterback play. Not until recently anyway. Meanwhile UGA has been stacking them for years. The one thing we know about stacking those QB's, a good many of them will be out of there.

Maybe we can pick one up

I just dont see any fall off at Bama.

Bama has also stacked talent at QB, though. Like UGA, it’s all on paper. Bama doesn’t like their talent or doesn’t think they’re ready. I have suspicions UGA doesn’t like Stockton or Vandergriff at this point.

Ty Simpson was a 5*, top 3 QB in 2022. They took two top 150 guys at QB last year in Holstein and Lonergan. I get that those guys aren’t #1 overall type of guys but that’s in the ballpark you want to be stacking up in. Millroe was somehow the 82nd overall player but the 13th QB

Anyway, I don’t think there’s a huge disparity there but obviously Bama grabbing the ND guy says the talent on paper doesn’t match the performance on the field

Others contend that the gap has grown even further because Uga just got the #1 ranked QB.

Not necessarily just the QB they picked up, it's overall recruiting. And if we are going to "close that gap", we had better get to work. They already have 5 kids committed for 2025 and 4 of them are 5* talent. 3 from the state of Georgia and one from Mobile Alabama. A OT that could stay in state at Auburn if he liked.

If they keep rolling, they will have over 50, 5* players brought in the last 8 years or so. Stupid numbers.

Yea I think he shows a lot of similar attributes/play style to Alshon Jeffrey if I was going to compare his style to anyone. Duke is another good one.

Hooks? I'd be good with him. We will have some size on the outside that's for sure if he comes as well.

I’d rather go the route of the one year guys. Too many high school studs that could get scared off by signing multiple year portal guys.

Amazing how the times and the "wants"change. I remember when coaches got beat up for bringing in too many Jr College guys.
