I generally don't play the conspiracy theory game, but if you back up and look at the college sporting landscape from 10,000 feet, there is definitely something major simmering out there. There is a rash of sports gambling stories across multiple fronts. I firmly believe after the SEC indefinitely suspended a long time official earlier in the year that nothing can be dismissed as just the nature of the game. You can't continue to witness multiple game changing calls and no calls and not be suspicious.

It has become so obvious, that I try to ignore the biased calls to keep college games interesting still

This year it's deserved. The outcry should remain loud from all teams until there is transparent and accountability from the officiating crews AND the replay team in Birmingham

And it's not just us Auburn and not just the SEC. Dabo went scorched earth on Officiating in the ACC as well fairly recently. that area of the product has to improve immensely and very soon because you're starting to see more and more Players, Coaches and Fans getting tired of the BS.

The timing of our penalties skews the effect as well.
For sure. This team has had bad/blown calls go against them in the absolute worst moments all season.
The fumble we returned for a TD getting overturned in the OU game. The illegal sub/fake sub play in in the OU gameright after the overturned TD fumble. The goal line fumble in the UGA gameand everything than transpired right after that til halftime. Kirby's free timeout. TD taken off the board at Vandy on an extremely weak hold call...
There are more, but like you said, it just comes off as whining. Its been bad for a while. And not just against Auburn. We have all watched other SEC games where the officials just flat out suck. But, this season has seemed way more egregious and blatant to where you do have to wonder if it is blatant for certain teams.

Melt day....whatever
Game is 60 minutes. Refs have not caused AU to lose. What about that play where the DB just hands off the WR to nobody. False start at the 4.
You old ITAT bitches still talking about this? There are now complaints about refs in a game where AU doesn't play.
RPL or LPL?
Like I tell my son every time we golf, "there's gonna be some good things happen, and some bad things happen, have to overcome".
One day a coach will pull that sword out of the stone.
I picked the wrong seanson to quit drinking.

We have been absolutely fricked in 2 games. Games determined by missed calls and missed calls even on reviews. The main topic of this discussion is there is a massive stench coming from officiating this season. I haven’t watched all games obviously but from most that I have regardless of what 2 teams there have been a clear bias favoring one team over another.
It’s also not always about number of penalties vs one team or another it’s the timing. It’s that extra foot on 3rd and 3 on the spot.
I have to say that I watched LSU-bammer last night more than long enough to see LSU was clearly getting a full bore fricking.
Back a year ago, before the season, I ran across an Iron Bowl replay from the 1980's. I watched that game, and I saw maybe two shaky calls both ways. I watch a game today, and about every third play I see a WTF call/no call/review. Wrong team gets some momentum, or the right team needs a TO they don't have? Review......well after everyone is lined up for the next snap, and now the opponent has seen the alignment.

They don’t “choose” when to throw a flag. The choice is made when foul occurs.
Start of a season. First play sweep to my side. Turn the corner, black and I to the goal line 80 yards. On the turn, white hst throws the flag.
Signal TD….Back dances a little “Back we go, want to carry the ball or should I?”
BACK TEN YARDS HOLDING.
Hint here, flag on the ground when we made the break.
We jogged back together…..joking about the TD
They ran the same play. Flag came out as the back and I broke for the end zone……90 yards away.
Now, I’m a little winded, still good……this time, told the back.
For an old man, I’m still good to pace you 95 yards. But if you break this time and flag is on the ground, I’ll catch you and tackle you myself.
Back replies “I’m tired, going to the sideline.”
If that flag drops 20-30 yards behind the play…..bitch about it.
In this case both holds were before the sweep crossed the LOS…..
Just because the fans are watching a long run, means they missed why the flag came out and when.
But hey, it negated a 60,70,80 yard run, that’s all that mattered. Damned refs.

We have definitely been an undisciplined with penalties but I’m not complaining just about Auburn.
I don’t know what it is but something the last 3-4 years. Granted Bammer has been protected for years. But it’s every game between 2 teams now it seems. It’s concerning

Dragon i respect refs. Thats not what im trying to say with this thread.
Hell i ref’d some youth football games for a couple years. Nothing that you have done and I do realize no crew is gonna see everything or get every call correct

At the NCAA LEVEL….consider this.
Name a hobby, in which you are evaluated every week after three hours at the task.
Your White evaluates you.
The league evaluates you
What you never see is the number of officials dismissed each year.
Semi Pro was worse. We reviewed games as marked up by the review process. To the standards of the league. A lot of guys never lasted more than a year. Film doesn’t lie.
I agree, there are “hobbyists” that have no business being on the field. Hell, we had a book wonder that scored 99, 98 on the test each year. But he had no business being on a football field. No field presence, NIL has changed the NCAA ….now let’s refine stripes and make them professionals. That means, get rid of the dead wood.
Gambling? Try all the way down to Little League. Who the hell bets on a ten year old?

It's a billion dollar industry (plus) and there is no professional referee's. No way to build, insure, and ascertain a better class of men than you'd find in a poker game, pool room, or your child's high school football game. No checks and balances other than their capricious whims.
Let that sink in... the NCAA alone accounted for $1,300,000,000.00 (1.3 billion) in revenue for the 2022-23 fiscal year according to AI. Yet they operate on the trust me principle.
And there's no mechanism to insure these miscreants have any more accountability than the lowest of immoral thug. And then we allow them to double down on the dumb by having no manner to reverse malfeasance. Once the clock is done it's pay me my bet. The audacity to not even allow a two hour window to file a protest. Not even if posting up a million dollar lose-able protest. Just a what's been done can't be undone. In NASCAR the winning car gets taken apart. In the track and field you piss in a cup or loose that gold medal. Same with boxing another betting sport. Same with cycling. You can redo championships decades later but not a bad decision made ten minutes ago.
And the controlling body simply has no mechanisms to address this situation other than allow them (to continue) to say trust me.

So do we get the 50,000 dollar fine for faking injury or not
Posted on 11/10/25 at 8:29 am to jangalang
I would say no. All the player has to say is he was cramping. Not like they have legal authority to put you under oath or hold you in contempt.
Posted on 11/10/25 at 8:32 am to CorchJay
A&M has already been levied the fine.
The SEC doesnt take you to court they merely make a judgement call based on the film

Not just protecting playoffs but SEC Championship appearances too

And it’s not only officiating that is dirty in this sport
Don’t even get me started on the CFP “committee.”
I will just say it’s all about name brands
None of their lip service means a thing and their weekly show is an absolute insult to the fans’ intelligence

Think about this. Think back to 2013. Going in to the Iron Bowl, what if we had had 2 or 3 SEC losses and would not have gone to SECCG or BCS if we won. Would the game have been called differently? Would there have been some kind of phantom flag on the Kick Six? Did both teams being in a position for post-season keep the officiating neutral?
Who knows?

The problem with officiating is between the field and replay.
Take the sentence out of the rules that says "need indisputable evidence to overrule a call on the field".
It is dumb and it should only be about getting the call correct. That is it, but simply putting that wording in the rules is nothing but trying to protect the good standing of the ref crews.
Replay is there to get much better looks at close plays because it can be hard to get that on field level with only 1 or 2 officials that may be able to see it. The ultimate call there should be from someone who has 8-10 camera views to work with.
Simply get the call correct. That is it. It's close, were going to replay to make the final call.
Think about the JA goalline call against Georgia vs. that incredible TD catch by Indiana this weekend. I bet in the SEC the initial call would have been that he was out of bounds and then replay would not have overturned because they would have said they did not have indisputable evidence.
