For the first time in years, I heard many experts say that Nicky got out coached this year, especially by Gus. Bama just signed the best recruiting class in history, so when we beat them again, what does that say about Nicky's coaching ability? That's why the heat is really on him to win.
2013's win is considered an outlier or fluke by many. This year's IB will be a much larger statement. To beat Saban consecutively would change the perception of his dominance.

I agree that we need to beat them or at the very least be very competitive with them consistently for people's attitudes to change.
I still don't see how people call this year's win a fluke though. It's not like we were losing when we returned the kick. We were tied and had finally started to move the ball well again and our defense was keeping them out of the endzone, especially when we got to the redzone.

Out side of a Mason fumble and a 99-yard busted play, Auburn dominated that game pretty well

That's because the mighty tahd got beat. The truth is, bama was overrated. They played a soft schedule. They snuck by Miss. St.. After that game I thought our guys had a shot.

I don't know, I actually see several media types saying Saban was flat out couches in the iron bowl.
He was either out coached or it was a fluke, can't really be both. Unless it was a fluke Saban was out coached, which is just stupid. A lot of people I think see that Gus is a better x and O's guy. Nothing fluky about it

I agree it was no fluke, but the fact is that within the state of Alabama, where Saban is god almighty, most do consider it a fluke. My point is that two wins in a row will weaken the perception of Saban's dominance. That being said, we will get the very best of the 2014 bama squad.

I fully expect us to win in Tuscaloosa this year and the tide will have turned (Pun intended). Saban will have his team ready, but I like our chances.

I really hope Gus stops the trend of sub par seasons when we are expected to do well.

Anybody have anything on Lorenzo Fields OLB from Daphne? I read on another board that he may get a late offer if gets a qualifying score on his ACT this Sat. A few people had seen him play and said he was without a doubt Daphne's best defensive player this year but his grades kept all the big schools away. He also just moved there prior to the season and didn't attend any camps so he wasn't on anybody's radar before the season.

Just looked at this tape. It's really good, I'm no expert on his level of competition, though. Someone would have to chime in on that.
Good:
Size
Instincts
Quick, can't really decide if he's "fast"
He's the best player on the field in the clips provided, though. Plays with his hand in the dirt, lines up at DE often.
It will be interesting to see what happens.

I would take a 6'3 235 lb linebacker any day if he can move. I want to watch his tape but in class

He looks pretty quick, but I don't know about his competition level. I don't know which teams he's playing in those clips.

looked like enterprise, foley, and maybe robertsdale... but i'm not too sharp on my mobile area high schools.
outside of 6A/5A in the birmingham metro, 6A/5A in mobile is as good as it gets in this state, competition wise.

Here is a tweet from Lorenzo Fields
