You guys are either delusional or have poor memories.

Finebaum was an idiot POS then and an idiot POS now. He wasn't quite as bad about sucking up to bammer then, but pretty close. Never missed a chance to trash Auburn; same as now.

Not sure. The insiders seem afraid to speak up this go around. JK...

he would occasionally kick bammer when they were down back then. most likely still would if they were ever down anymore. he is an opportunistic vulture if nothing else.

He might criticize individual coaches or administrators as being unworthy of the "Greatness That Is Bama", but he would never criticize or mock the school/program/institution the way he routinely did and does trash Auburn.

He may be a bammer whore for purely mercenary reasons, but he's still a bammer whore and always has been.

As an Auburn alum, I'd have no problem doing the amount of trash talking about Auburn Finebaum has done if it got me his paycheck.

I'd just be sure to cut a nice check back to Auburn to help fix the problems I trash them about.

From the little I've read about Allen, he would be a great hire

I just asked a friend of mine who is an Ole Miss fan what he thinks about Allen and his response:

"Don't tell me he is yalls new dc. He is awesome."

Downside is it sounds like he runs a 4-2-5. Not sure how I feel about going back to that

We ran more nickel than any other package last year under Muschamp. Nickel = 4-2-5

I could fap to the potentially small cost to buy him out if he & Gus fail

I could too. Have we heard anything else? Seems like the insiders dropped off the map after being so gun-sure about Kelly.

Allen seems like the most logical choice to me. He is 45 and hasn't been a DC all that long, so the chances of him jumping to a HC position after a year or two are slim.

He is new to the DC position but had a very good season at USF this year. He has SEC experience (LB coach) at Ole Siss and I assume runs the same scheme as Ole Siss's DC Wommack (who had a good defense most of the season).

It's no secret Gus and Freeze are good friends and coaches tend to run in circles. So, Allen seems like he would be the top candidate.

The 4-2-5 works for Ole Siss and there's no reason it couldn't work at AU (despite EJ's failure). The difference in Ole Siss and AU right now is they have numerous high draft picks to work with on D. It's all about the Jimmies and Joes.

I'm to a point I know we r going to end up with a no name or promoted position coach. I'm just ready for it to be over b4 recruits start looking around too hard.

If we end up with Allen, there's likely no melt. At least from most of us
