Beat me to it. No melt on the Auburn board? I have a nice seaside condo in Idaho I can sell you on the cheap.

Is it on the Western or Eastern Idaho seashore? It makes a difference you know...

We ran more nickel than any other package last year under Muschamp. Nickel = 4-2-5

I'd rather have a Base 3-4, but it may be for the best with us losing so many LBs after this season

I'd like to point out that a fair few 3-4 coaches use 2-4-5 as their standard Nickel package. Mason at Vandy is one of them. Coaches who use this typically have bigger (240-250 pound) OLBs. Obviously, that essentially lets them become de facto DEs, but they still have the flexibility to drop OLBs into coverage while bringing ILBs. Just a bit of food for thought when you start talking about wanting 4-2-5 because that's standard nickel.

I think I have figured this whole deal out. In an unprecedented move Gus will not hire a DC in order to focus 100 percent on offense. We are going to whirlybird and jet sweep ourselves to the SEC championship next year. Frick D it is overrated anyway.

You're absolutely right. I'm just sick of people saying "I don't want to go back to a 4-2-5 like under Ellis Johnson, that worked out soooo great"

We should just hire Derrick Mason as our DC. That guy can coach a defense

RE: USF's Tom Allen

@FootballScoop: Very good football coach. Would love to be an SEC DC. Has to get comfortable w the situation at Auburn.

@FootballScoop: I don’t have a feel for which way he is leaning. Hear he is all in at USF at the moment…but that could change.

Christ, we can't even get USFs DC to come on board?

Gus is a fricking trainwreck as HC. He just needs to be OC and let someone else captain the shjp

I agree. I don't think he has it in him to run a program. He's a good offensive mind, but that's it.
