The Good: forced turnovers by sacking the QB

The Bad: two long TDS on simple plays, bad angles did not wrap up.

Special teams: fumble on a punt return

Offense: Bo played bad, but got zero help from the Oline and RBS. terrible. Bo should have had a TD to Williams and cost us a FG.

But the players could have won if not for the coaching.

Were we watching the same defense? They held up as long as they could, without that defense we lose by 5 tds.

Our OL is the problem to me, and I am not sure if they'll improve at all from what they are now. Gus offense depends on being able to run the ball and we can't against top defenses until later in the game.

I was watching highlights from mid-2000s Auburn games last week and what really stuck out to me the most was the mean attitude and nastyness on those OLs, and running backs who ran with power and authority looking to hit holes and blast someone. Had it in 2009, 2010, 2013. I don't see it now. Kerryon did it with a subpar one.

OL is what's keeping us from being great, IMO. But we have gotten out recruited by nearly everyone there for years.

Our defense had some troubles with the delayed crossing routes, but overall they played fine.

Agreed and something we all knew would be the question mark going into the season and has proven to be an issue virtually every game this season.

We had some good plays called, and terrible execution.

Forget the big stuff, the every play stuff killed us. Nix running for the first down marker, tackled by the db who was covering Stove, and Stove has his friggin back to the defender, adjusting his shoulder pads, watching his man clobber Nix short of first down, wtf was that?

Swing pass out in the flat and Horton is three steps late and flailing at the wind as his man clobbers our receiver.

And Nix, behind receivers, sailing receivers, locking on Seth Williams continually, not seeing some wide open guys. But yes a lot of this goes on the oline, for friggin goodness sakes, first play of the game a de comes in untouched??? Poor fella was shell shocked the entire game.

It was pretty clear early, that Nix was very off. I don't understand how everyone in the world could see that, but Gus keeps him in. I like Nix, but he should have been pulled early in the 2nd half.

Our running game was atrocious, and we kept running the same stuff, expecting a different result. Gus regressed to his old, predictable self. Why Gatewood wasn't put in to run read options is a mystery. At the very least, everyone would expect nothing but runs with him in, then let him throw. There is no way it could have been any worse than what actually happened with Nix missing open receivers badly and throwing 3 picks.

The 3 tds were all busts in coverage and just great play calls by Mullens. He isolated slot guys on LBs and for the big run he overloaded field side and ran it back to boundary where we had NOBODY behind Britt. Just great offensive coaching.

Anybody that says the defense didn’t play well didn’t watch the game.
Florida has great receivers, a couple good backs, and a quality offensive minded coach, and our defense kept them at bay most of the day.

Derrick Brown almost kept us in it all by himself.

DC’s generally don’t like being so vunerable that runs to the weak/ boundary side has huge holes and only few players that can defend the hole. If I had to guess our DE should’ve sealed the edge.

Would love to see a gif of that play.

Repeat oline a lot (until) it totals most of the reason.

Both D'lines were doing thier best; however Florida's O'line was simply better than our o'line, who's maybe the worst to never show. Coupled with an order of magnitude difference in coaching and noisy hostile crowd and you get an insurmountable hill (in flat land FL) to have stumbled upon.

How raucous is a night game in LA?

they also gave up the lead and momentum on the second play of the game and allows the last nail in the coffin to be hammered in

Ha! Our OL is senior laden, and apparently, the best we have. I shudder at the thought of next year.

OL gets hammered on this site but they played pretty well considering the defense they were up against. Nix had time to throw and they opened up running lanes in the second half.

What momentum did we have? We got the ball first and gained one total yard before the defense had their first of 2 screwups.

Our offense started like 3 drives in plus territory and got maybe 6 points out of it. And then there was the Bo interception right after Davidson forced a TO. That one play ended up being a 14 point swing as Florida’s team started within RZ.

Defense was stout, nearly walking on water.
