Because Nix isn’t an OC….basically bringing in a recruiter at OC that has worked with Freeze and knows his offense but he’s not going to be calling plays.

Probably, him and Kent Austin.
Freeze tried to hire Nix last year, but something with his contract with Ole Miss stopped it. Ole Miss bucked up and threatened litigation and Auburn would not agree to indemnify him so Auburn moved on.

No I would not necessarily assume that since Nix will take the OC role, there is still a place for Caddy.

Monty was also the QBC. We would still need to hire a QBC. If Caddy remained at RBC we’d be over the limit on coaches.

We essentially need an OC that is also QBC to retain Caddy at RBC, or any other position coach.

I’m not confused. We have Kent Austin on staff whose job is to work with the QBs.
That does not require him having an on field position.
