Line is 4.

I honestly have no idea., but he probably better get more than 6 wins just to make a bowl game though...

Sadly I'll take the under.

I hate being a nega-tiger, but it feels like such a huge mountain to climb. It feels like he is getting some good pieces in place but there's also a feeling that the timing is off - like when one position group is at the perfect level of experience there's another that is just getting up to speed. I worry that is more than the portal can overcome year after year.

eta: I dont think Freeze knows how to win. He knows how to compete and recruit, but it wont be enough. Middle of the pack and praying to make top 15 is not where I envisioned the Auburn football program being after firing Gus Malzahn

never been convinced he was a good HC, and he’s done nothing since he got here to change my opinion

my expectation is that he’ll do just enough this year to keep his job, then grossly underperform in ‘26 and get R-U-N-N-O-F-T

He would have to implode before 5. Huge is loved by our people that matter.

This is kinda my expectation as well. He'll manage 7-8 wins this year and keep his job, and then have another 7-8 win season the following year and get canned. His coaching has been extremely unimpressive so far.

Hopefully we are proven wrong. We've definitely got the talent this year to be better.

What the people that matter think tends to change quickly once the stadium is looking empty and lethargic. Half the fanbase hated the hire and Hugh to begin with, there isn't going to be a ton of patience on the fan end with him.

If healthy I say Hugh is here until 2031.

Our admin does not want to do another reset.

This is the question. I’m saying under because I think he will retire after the cancer makes him realize life is short.

They are going to re-evaluate after the season. So for now just trying to stay healthy

Sounds like jville may be right. Retirement may be the end result

From what I’ve gathered in his interviews, he’s not delaying treatment really. For men with localized, low-risk prostate cancer, active surveillance is often the standard of care. I’m betting that’s where he’s at even though he hasn’t said much more.

They’ve done a biopsy and likely submitted for a Gleason score that’s low enough to warrant a de-escalated approach for now.

Regardless, cancer can be unpredictable and most people aren’t comfortable knowing that’s it’s happening inside you. It would weigh heavily on my mind even with a highly favorable prognosis

This thread depresses me greatly.

If I was at the window in Biloxi, with a $100, and had to bet, I'd take the under.

We had more talent than Cal, AK, Mizzou, and Vandy and by half time, I knew all the games were over. In true AU fashion, I had to watch til 0:00. I suspect this season will be the same.

Run the plays your freaking players can run. We've been trying to be "cute" for far too long. RPO against Oklahoma was awful. Just call a running play.

My son (13) wants to go to AU, and that thread on the OT about cost depresses me even more. ~$120k for a four year degree is mind-blowing.

Down 17-20 @ Baylor late in the 4th.....with a kick on the line

I for one am hoping Freeze threads the needle and wins 8-9 games this year and starts the
momentum of a good little run. I am certainly not convinced at this point that he has the coaching prowess to pull it off but I sure hope it happens and he stays here for a while because that will be a good thing.

1 and 2/12ths. He makes it this year but gets fired two months into the start of the 2026/2027 season.

I was told this before the cancer diagnosis.

"Hugh likely has 5-6 more years at Auburn. He's trying to build a roster for one last run before he retires."

This was after the first season.

He was average in his prime.

Now the game has completely changed. Still no proven commodity at QB.

He has cancer. He's older-ish.

Just feels like a bunch of lost years.

I thought we needed someone to just get kids in here after poor recruiting for a long time. But I'm not sure that really matters now if they leave when he retires or is fired.
