I bet that was discouraging af. I cant even comprehend the amount of sky screaming anger I would've felt.

I probably should have man'ed up after I healed and got back at it but like you said, I got discouraged. I had been on "get healthy" thing and lost about 75 pounds over a few years, did lots of running, riding and weight training. I wanted to do it for a reward. I ended up doing a few sprint tris but never got back to doing a 70.3. I think if I would have done that, I probably would have stuck with it

I was guiding at the time so I was leaving my house and doing my swim training at 4am, coming back home to get my boat to start trips at 7am then doing run/bike training in the afternoons. It was not easy

Enjoyed the training and still have all the stuff I bought. Sold my bike when I moved. Still have a folder in my email with all the training guidelines. Just a reminder that I quit something which is unusual for me. I am a lot of things that are not complimentary but a quitter is not one of them. All this happened about the time I bought the tackle business and I let that second job consumer all my extra time. It was as good a excuse as any

Worst part of it was that I could not get my entry fee back so I still have a credit with them.

I basically had the same injury as Broome my Junior year of college, I missed 3 weeks of Golf tournaments, and it was 6-8 weeks before it felt normal again.

I did not have the same level of care that Johnni had though.

Did mine stepping off a curb leaving Olive Garden.

I have heard he could possibly be back for Tennessee, but that isn't likely.

Just my guess is it a Grade 2. With that I would expect anywhere from 3-6 weeks.

I predict you will be surprised at how quickly he recovers.

No more info that I can post.

Just putting this out there (on the record)

Tennessee is and has been my guess. He was pretty well taped up and they immediately started icing it. As soon as the swelling goes down they will start working on getting his range of motion back.

I have found that once my routine is shattered it is hard to get back into my own regimen.

I know if I take a long week off from the gym then that first day back I have procrastinating thoughts creep in and laziness wants to take over.

Would be ten times harder to get going back in if you are out 2 or so months. It takes about two weeks of inactivity to ruin lot of the gains achieved beforehand so you're maybe starting over at that point

My ankle rolling story is after wrestling practice my ride never showed up so I had to walk home (Almost 5 miles). I was already exhausted and about halfway home I rolled my ankle stepping off a curb because it was dark and I didn't see it. To say I was pissed when I got home would be an understatement lol.

They always say the tournament is won or lost based on your guards anyway, so this is just more time for them to get better at some things. Got to find he bright side right now.

Unless you are Broome's doctor, this is a stupid take. You should be ashamed. Also, dragons weren't real.

Yea, I fall into the trap as well. The crazy thing is that I actually enjoy exercising. Of all kinds. I like running, riding, weight training, etc. Once I start, I typically find it easy to stick with it. I have been back on it lately and doing pretty well. Gonna try to drop 20 pounds over the next few months so I have been getting out and walk/jogging. Even went to our gym in the neighborhood 2 times last week. We have everything I need and there typically is not anyone in there. I tend to go early in the morning before most of the people wake up.

But I agree that routine is the key. I am good with routines but also, bad at starting them

You have no idea what my “take” is based on. There is a lot more data to base a conclusion on without having access to protected health information. You just have to know what you are looking for.

No predictions for healing are ever 100%. But I posted that Broome would be starting in the Purdue game before it happened as well.

So you're using "data", that doesn't include health information, to make an injury prognosis.

I'm intrigued...
