These are the same insiders who literally never have any inside information. Heck Kevin Steele’s name was never even mentioned as a candidate when he was hired 4 years ago. Now they have the the whole inside scoop about the power struggle to get Steele as head coach for the last two years??
None of it makes any sense and I can promise you it’s not true. I would ask why they would pick such a ridiculous angle to run with, but the number of people freaking out and running over here to discuss ever last made up detail says they clearly know what they are doing?

Steele cannot be the hire after 8 years and a massive buyout. They cannot be that stupid. I refuse to believe it.
I think Freeze is long out of the equation. Christobal is the guy. Please Auburn do not frick this up. I cannot handle another year of this shite. I haven’t been to a game in years. And I at least go to one a year....not that I matter in the grand scheme of things but still.

Stoops has always hated the SEC and has said he does not have any interests in coaching there. Plus, he turned down the Florida State job a few years ago which would have been a much better job for him. He isn't coming to the pressure cooker on the plains.

Mario Cristobal: Addressed rumor last night. Says that he or his agent "haven't be contacted". He also says rather directly that he, Phil Knight, and UO admin are working on an extension that was started pre-pandemic. He said he wants to get that done and stay, but did not go all "pine box" or Nick Saban with Dolphins.
Kevin Steele: Leading candidate for the job according to our idiot insiders. I say take that with a grain of salt. Auburn does insane things, but I say making Steele HC is too crazy for even our power brokers.
Hugh Freeze: No radio traffic, nothing to report.
Lane Kiffin: Addressed our job directly and made a big joke of it. Doesn't seem like a candidate at this point.

Actually our football program got rid of Gus, which is what most everyone wanted at this point. That’s the only thing that’s factually happened.

Just curious - how many of those "insiders" broadcasted anything about Gus getting fired prior to it actaully happening? None that I have seen (If I am wrong just let me know)......with that being the case I don't put much stock into what these "insiders" are reporting leading up to a new HC being hired
