I think there's actually a lot more important stuff being said in there, if its true.

About the people who are making this choice and how long long they've been trying to make it happen. IF its true, then Gus never had a shot at getting this fixed.

Quick summary? The usual about our money people wanting to be football coaches? Same stuff happened with Chiz.

- The search committee is a farce and just to appease Gogue
- Money boys want Steele. Have wanted him for two years
- They think Steele can fix our "culture problem". Whatever the hell that means.
- Allen Greene has zero say in this. He wanted to retain Gus.
- Others might get interviews but according to this Q&A they're just for show

If so we can flush our program down the toilet. I love Steele but he has no desire to turn a program around from anything I’ve heard. Hell coach what, 3 more years max?

F it.. its already a mess so I might as well do my part to keep it going

Steele, Rane and other BoT members have been trying to make this happen for 2 years.. the implication being Steele went behind Gus back. Also because of the power structure Greene has zero control and actually wanted to keep Malzahn 1 more year instead of going through everything we're going though now. Don't be surprised if Greene gets out sometime in the future (don't blame him. Can't imagine he wants to be a lame duck AD)

Maybe I'm interpreting it all wrong and if thats the case I'll own up to it.

None of that would surprise me if true.

Just get rid of the football boosters if Steele is hired. I'd rather have no money coming into football than have it be wasted by people who literally have no idea what they're doing.

There is hit pieces like this posted for every school. Without money people there is no CFB. With money people, there is drama. Our beat guys haven't had an in for years. This is a stretch. If Steele is hired, it is because Cristobal said no, and Napier had issues. Freeze has major issues, and was never an option.

Exactly why I said earlier if its true then we need to clean house.. president, Rane and anyone else involved. It will never happen though.

How in the holy frick were these idiots ever successful businessmen?

Can we at least address the fact that Jimmy fricking Sexton has run the football program at AU for the past 22 years?

Tuberville
Chizik
Malzahn
Steele

Not to mention practically every “big name” floated during our inevitable clusterfrick coaching searches (Spurrier, Muschamp, Nutt, Jimbo, Kirby, Freeze, Kiffin, ad naseum)

Wouldnt it have been cheaper just to put that fat bastard on retainer for $2 million a year, just to keep him from dictating every jot and tiddle on every hopelessly one-sided deal for the next ex-AU coaching legend?

How incomprehensibly stupid is our GOBN to fall for this shite EVERY.SINGLE.frickING.TIME?

I'm with you. I don't know whats true and whats not. Its strange to just offer up info like that to me though. No hints or anything, just straight up coming out with it. No one else is disputing it. 247 Auburn site is basically risking their reputation with this. If they are wrong I'm not sure they could be trusted with anything else.

I dont like it, but Steele is prolly a solid backup if your main 1 or 2 targets say no.

I mean he could probably corner the 8-5 market. Gus had that covered....

Should’ve stuck with Gus if the BOT and boosters had no cares of winning. Gus has yet to embarrass Auburn as much as the BOT is trying to do.

We don’t have a culture problem, we have recruiting and rival problems.
