quote:Its college football so you never know. Sounded more like he expected to announce an extension in the next couple of days to me though.
So he is leaving Eugene in an open top pine box??

His nostrils flared when he was talking about no one reaching out. We got him boys.

He probably needed to pay to get rid of Gus just for the tax write off
Buyouts are no longer able to be a tax write off since the tax bill of 2017.

He didn't really so yes or no. Said he does not know if his agent has been contacted

Remember when Greg Roman was a hot name for college football? Watching the Browns and Ravens and heard his name. I had forgotten about him.

Sounds to me like he's waiting for the decision makers to step up and give him a raise and an extension or else.
Didn't he just lose his last two games?

They were going to do a raise/extension in Feb and Covid squished it. I think he is wanting paid or he bounces.

Watching Cristobal answer the question, his response leaves a lot of room for guessing.
He clearly knows he is coming to Auburn.

He is coming unless OU beats our offer

...and he'll want his (likely) win in Friday night's PAC-12 Championship to boost all negotiations. So, we likely won't hear anything until this Saturday at the earliest.

I know we like Cristobal but I don’t think we can say Oregon “likely” wins after back to back losses to Oregon State and Cal

I think MC said about the only thing he could say, given the circumstances. It sounds like he hasn't been presented with a specific Oregon retention offer yet, and because of that, he can't say "no, I have no interest at all in leaving". IMO, his approach was just good business, and keeps his options open. I don't put any weight on it one way or the other.
If you put Kiffin, Freeze, Stoops, and Meyer in the category of "not the next HC at Auburn", which I do, then your most attractive options quickly become Cristobal and Napier.

There's another live Q and A thread on 247 again.. For the same reason I didn't post anything from the last one, I won't post anything from this one. Too many things that could be untrue.. but IF they are true then we need to clean house and either Herbert, Rane or both need to be FAR away from the program.

That whole Q&A on 247 could have been summed up in a one word post and locked.
"Steele"
It will be incomprehensible if we hire a search firm and put together a committee just to land on our current DC.
