I'm telling you all; if its Cristobal then his staff is going to be lights out on the recruiting trail. This is a no-lose decision. Whats the worst thats going to happen? He flops completely as a coach but leaves the next guy a loaded roster?

This is a really great point. Which is the opposite of what’s happened with our past three coaches.

It's generally believe that the search committee is not for a search (like 2012) as it is the Auburn reps currently in talks with MC.

We have hired a firm in ATL to lead the search lol... Parker Executive Search.
Edit- As of 2 mins ago Oregon 247 mod says he doesn't see Cristobal leaving at this time. I've been trying to keep up with their board, but there's not much info there at all.

This Kevin Steele noise serves three purposes:
1. Provides a distraction
2. Sours the conversation on Steele somewhat, so that if the next HC doesn't retain him/he retires/he decides not to work with the new HC, the fanbase isn't as upset about losing him (we're just relieved he wasn't hired as HC)
3. Provides a potential narrative of "They interviewed Kevin for the HC position but didn't offer him the job, so Kevin decided it was time to move on/retire"
And, if you're going to leak a story, who better than to leak it to than... Philip Marshall
