Harbert wants Steele. Rane and others want MC. Steele is unlikely unless things really go down hill. MC and Auburn are in advanced talks.

If I had to bet money I'd guess MC. I have no idea but just based on the pieces of smoke that have happened he seems most likely to me. I don't think anybody really knows.
I truly do not think it will be Steele unless we strike out on everyone else.

Just talked to Willie and he is 100% sure that we getting a big name that everyone will know and will carry major weight on the recruiting trail.

Why do we want a coach that lost to Bo Nix and Gus, with Justin Herbert as their QB?

Why did we fire a coach that beat Nick Saban?
Do you see how silly that argument is?

Not saying I want him, just predicting him. BTW Saban lost to Gus and Bo with Mac as his QB.

If Harbert wants Steele, how can anyone take this guy's opinions seriously?
He already has a big strike against him for allow that buyout in Gus' contract.

Cristobal just followed our grad transfer OL on Twitter. Looking like it is MC. I'm pleased.

It really is such a stupid argument. There is no Nick Saban type hire that is coming here. Anyone we hire will be a risk.
Cristobal still has a lot to learn about being a coach. What he does bring is the ability to recruit with the absolute best and build a roster with the Jimmies and Jo's. We will see if he can figure out the head coaching stuff, just like any other young HC prospect.

Later that same season, that same AU combo got blown out by an Alabama team coached by Dennis Franchione with Andrew Zow at QB.
shite happens.

You do realize Saban lost to Bo Nix and Gus with Mac Jones, Najee Harris, Ruggs, Waddle, and Devonte Smith right?
I don't understand why folks keep bringing this up...
EDIT: Good grief I can't respond quick enough...points been made...

People defend Gus going 8-5 every year but shite on Cristobals 12-1 year because the one loss was to Gus in week 1

Right. By that metric, Gus is better than Saban...who wants a coach who lost to Gus twice in 3 years???
I'd love to hear the people's opinion on that who are also pointing out Oregon's loss to Auburn.
It's about big picture folks. Mario's Oregon team improved over the course of the season and finished off with a win in the Rose Bowl.
Mario knows how Kirby and Saban recruit. He knows where the bodies are buried in T-town. He knows what they try to tell recruits to keep them from coming to Auburn.
