Mark is a boring pick. I don't think he'd crash and burn but he's certainly not elevating us to another level IMO. I do think he's a good choice for the Vols, because they need stability and he's stable. But the Vols are looking to return to glory instead of accepting they need a half decade of solid, boring football.

I agree w/ others who said no offer on Clark. I would think the pitch to Napier and Clark would be very different. Napier you negotiate with. Clark you say "we're only really moving forward in negotiations if you understand this is basically take it or leave it." I choose chaos over Clark.

This. And if it doesn't work, do the same to Kiffin.

Awfully quiet today...

Are they just gonna announce Steele or some other bottom tier coach late this evening? Or have we just given up and just let the players coach themselves next year?

No one is going to be announced today. No one will be announced tomorrow. Also, if they hire Steele Auburn will be one fire within minutes.

They need to just get it the frick over with and announce Steele. The relentlessly stepping on our dick in public is frankly, making it worse.

I don't know how realistic this is, but feel like if Steele is hired, he is going to have to make some grand slam coordinator/assistant hires to appease the fanbase. Don't know what names are available but wondering if we end up with a big name OC. Also, a lot of talk about Rodney getting promoted to DC, but wonder if he'd be OK with Assistant HC tag, co-DC, etc. and us end up with a really fine co-DC.

Of course, the way this is going I doubt any of that happens. Trying to find a silver lining in all this. Even if it does happen, the bigger problem of booster involvement is still an issue.

That’s because we got our daily rejection notice from one of our coaching candidates in early today.

The sites have made enough Christmas money for the year or just gave up too.

Ha! I'm sure the big name coordinators out there, will be lining up to work for Kevin Steele!

A pay site is saying Freeze has been contacted. If true, what are the implications? Desperation? Maybe everything else has been a smokescreen? Maybe Kiffin isn't such a long shot?

People rejecting our offers is not a smokescreen for Freeze.
