No it’s not. I’ve already spoke on that many times. I’m not gonna misplace my aggressions with you bud.

You’re Clark homer, fine. But you’re homerism is so bad you’re willing to give the AU BOT a pass for one of the most botched coaching hires I can remember. Not to mention losing $21mil to Gus and one of the worst contracts in AU history.

If Bill Clark was the coach at Ga State with the same resume not a single person would say he was qualified for the job. The only reason he has any support is because he coaches at UAB and they know his name.

the Bot comes up with a candidate and presents them to the President. The president then has to give the ok.. The catch is the BoT has to approve any contract over 1 mil. So basically one can't overrule the other, they both have to be in agreement.

Thanks. Well that's a recipe for disaster when you have a BOT that consists of self-interested people.

If we're going to ride off into mediocrity or irrelevancy as a program, we should have just ridden with Gus. At least he ran a clean program and he does seem to frustrate Saban. We also never had to worry about big away games with Gus, no stress.

This situation just sucks. I’d say 7% of me is still holding out hope we pull a big-time hire at the eleventh hour. Not sure why tbh.

And it sounds like Auburn could’ve had cristobal, but AU BOT are forcing Steele and company on them. What shite show. Glad Napier interviewed and called their BS out about “limiting staffing” hires.

That's the rumor on 247. So Steele is left standing. Those Trustees are some sneaky bastards.

Too many turn us down and no one but a position coach or coordinator from a c-usa school will want the job.

I want to know what the BOT are pushing on them that's so bad. They may be trying to make it so bad no one wants it and we would be happy we got Steele.

If so I hope he dedicates his season to the BOTs.

If this is what happens, I wouldn't call it sneaky. I'd call it in-your-face-we-don't-give-a-frick-what-anyone-else-wants.

Seems like it is "We want you, but you have to hire this entire D staff"

Tate reports the talks with Clark hit a snag but doesn’t think an actual offer was made. Still won’t take him off the board though.

Of course that is the case.

It is always the case. Gus was told who to hire to a degree as well. Bruce was told to hire Persons. We always do this. None of our coaches ever get autonomy to hire their own staff.
