Barfield wasn’t near this bad. His teams at least played tough.

Barfield’s players also didn’t hate his fricking guts.

To his credit, Barfield recruited better than Harsin, BUT the negative is he didn't do much with that loaded backfield that include Joe Cribbs and William Andrews.

Oh, he changed the culture alright.
For the worse.
Good riddance to him.

Harsin was even worse than Doug Barfield. Barfield did have one 8-3 season at Auburn.

Yeah, anyone who thinks that Barfield was a worse than Harsin is absolutely, gold-filigreed insane.

Did he ever stop talking long enough to coach?

He beat Bobby Bowden and Vince Dooley while HC at AU.

According to a friend of mine who lettered under him, his big problem was keeping his word. Apparently Barfield was infamous for telling players what they wanted to hear then not following through.

Once players lose trust in their head coach it’s over.

Jimbo is a prime example.

In a very weird way, kind of feel sorry for him. Half of his press conferences, looked like he hadn't slept. Job was just too big for him. I've always wanted a coach to wear sunglasses on the sideline (check), have a beard (no check, he was too weak to shave).

Barfield progressed each of his first 4 years before the wheels came off in year 5. I still think Harsin is worse…I’ll call him…Harfield.

I think Harbee is more appropriate. He just about sucked the fun out of football, like Barbee did in basketball.

Harbee was 9-12 in his time at Auburn. The last coach to leave with a losing record was Earl Brown, who was replaced by Shug in 1950.

That's debatable, but so what? His record is what it is. Unlike say Barfield, no one is saying he was a really nice guy who might have made it if only...

He looked like a reasonable hire on paper, he was given the same kind of welcome any new and little known coach would have gotten. Everyone I know hoped it would work out. Just didn't. He never understood the requirements of recruiting or the human touch. And then there's his record.

Back off!!!!
Educate yourself before showing your ignorance arse.
Barfield has been discussed on this board a time or two. He signed some of the best players to wear an Auburn uniform and was damn competitive and never said a bad word with the way he was treated. Take a few minutes and read up on the man.
How damn childish you are trying to be funny boy. Perhaps it is you that needs to pack up and change colors.
Ridiculous!

My apologies guys!!!!!
You guys have allowed me to be part of this board and I am appreciative.
I sat my old fat arse in those cold seats last night because I love'em and I am tired of all the negative people on this board. Especially those that spout off degrading unnecessary junk they know nothing about.
Again, my apologies!!!

Harsin was never welcomed.

He came in with an attitude of pure arrogance. Even when his failure made our university the laughing stock of the SEC, he continued to act as if the players were to blame.
