Who is this

He is a student that runs an uniform website and is in classes with tons of athletes and attends more Auburn sporting events than just about anyone I know. Everything he puts out is second or third hand info from players.

Good guy and a friend of mine.

As I have said before, anyone that has graduated from Auburn, with a real major, could do as well running the AD as Jacobs.

ADs aren't for profit. They are borderline encouraged to spend every dime every year. Hard to justify additional donations if you already have money. WTF are they going to do with the profits? Give it back to the school or something?

Athletics footed the bill for the new dining hall and I believe new South Donahue dorms. I know the dining hall is almost for sure. AU Lawyers don't usually lie about things like that

Jeff Tarpley of A&M's 247 site believes currently A&M is sitting as the 3rd most likely destination behind Auburn and the NFL.

I don't know how solid Tarpley is...

Everything I have heard, be it from dawebz or through Dad's circle of friends, points to AU. This decision for him is not going to be a financial matter. Will have more to do with Family, and being somewhere he wants to be. Wherever he goes, it is likely to be a short stay (1-3 years). AU would benefit by his recruiting, as well as the foundation he could build for us on that side of the ball.

I think this happens.

If he is only going to be at the place he goes for 1 year (3 years at most) then why would the decision soley come down to being at a place he and his family wants to be? I mean, it's not like living in a city or coaching at a school you hate for a couple of years is a huge deal if you are making more money

Yeah. That definitely contradicts itself... unless his family is going to move back to his hometown in Georgia or something like that.

If he came I would be fine with him being here 2 or 3 years. I think it would take that long for him to be back in consideration for a head coaching gig at a tier one school.

I think Auburn is closer to finding a new DC than I am to finding a date for our Tacky Christmas social on Thursday. That's fun.

I could see him pulling a guy like Lashlee away after 2 years and allowing Lashlee to prove himself while giving Muschamp a clear "My mistakes were offense and here is my solution" path to get back as HC

I will put this in the OP and edit the thread title as well but the latest with Boom is he is not in a hurry to make a decision about a new job per a source close to him via PMarsh. Gus is not in a hurry as well and is focused on making his first set of visits with recruits this week per PMarsh.

Well, if true, you should be in a hurry Gus. National Signing Day is 64 days away, and defensive depth really can't wait another recruiting cycle.
