that may not have competed athletically but contributed many years and success to Auburn.

I don't see Alexander Hamilton, John Marshall, Thomas Paine or Ben Franklin on Mt Rushmore

This is for players only. They already have their names on stadium/arenas/field

The gap between them and the rest is huge. Bigger than that of Michael STrahan's teeth

I don't see how you can leave off all of Shug, Dye, or even someone like Heisman, Buddy Davidson, Joel Eaves, Jeff Beard, etc

You can not leave Cam off this. Cam completely shocked the college football world and put Auburn back on the map.

You could maybe take Charles off, but when most people think of Auburn basketball they say Charles. So, I can see someone leaving Charles off.

You really can't go wrong with any of them, as all are great at their respective sports or coaching the sports.

Yeah, that one season that gave us our first national title in 53 years. No Cam? We're looking at still having 1 legit title, we would not have absolutely embarrassed Bama with comeback that will never be forgotten.

As great as that one season was, it happened on a foundation that was built long before Cam was even conceived.

It really comes down to difference of opinion in importance of history versus individual events. Both sides can argue til blue in the face and nothing will change.

Btw, if we are talking importance and impact on AU overall, Pat Dye is number one above all others.

Even Bo.

Absolutely, that's why I said you can never be wrong in this argument.

Also, I'm sure it has to do with age difference. I know a lot more about Cam, and I guess seeing Cam with my own eyes. Unlike I did with Sullivan, Bo, Shug, Dye, etc.

Know a lot about them, but just didn't happen in my time.

Football only?

Coaches: Shug, Dye, Mike Donohue, Tuberville(?)

Players: Bo, Sullivan, Cam, Tucker Frederickson

Coaches/Players: Shug, Dye, Bo, Cam

I am astounded at how many put Dye ahead of Shug. What Shug did in the 50s to revive Auburn football is at least as great as what Dye did in the 80s, plus Shug won one NC and came close to another. He was also (gasp!) a great Auburn Man.
