Maybe we shouldn’t leave Jerry Dinson in coverage 1-on-1...

I love his tackling ability, but his coverage...meh. He is a true liability in pass defense.

Others have pointed this out.

He is a solid tackler but he couldn't cover me on a pass pattern. He is definitely a liability in pass D.

He just got out of concussion protocol and was banged up early. I like him as a nickel, probably not for a few weeks to get right though

Why are we that bad in coverage then? Is it due to the fact that our guys don’t turn their heads to play the ball?

It's not just the bama game. Teams have been throwing over the top of him for most of the season.

Isn't he the nickel? Shouldn't his cover skills be less than the other DB's?

I’ll let the coaches know. Obviously they’ve missed this obvious conclusion. You’ve likely saved us an embarrassing loss.

I was going to make a post that as much as I love this D my one complaint is the DBs not turning their head and finding the ball a little better. When is the last time we had an INT

Just went and looked, our last INT against an SEC team was against Miss St. That game was played in September. 2 months and 6 games without an INT is a problem.

Hopefully it means we are due for a couple Saturday.

Is Auburn playing fake games now?

This thread is ridiculous. The coaches wouldn’t put him out there if they weren’t confident in him.

Also, it’s natual for a run-focused corner to have worse stats against the pass: teams will pick on him.

Not every corner on this team is in the Thorpe watch list. Such is life.

I tired to tell everyone early in the season that Dinson was a liability and I got down voted into oblivion

Yes as are every other big school and they have been doing it for years.

Even if you want to count an INT against LA-MO that is still 1 INT in the last 7 games. That's not good.

This is peak Auburn right here in this thread.

Finding something to complain about with our defense. Jesus.

I love our D and have said so many times, but getting turnovers is an area that there is definitely room for improvement and may make the difference in one of these, hopefully multiple, games down the stretch.
