It really seems like the committee doesn't care about the Sunday championship games.

Bingo.... We played our way to a 4 seed and Michigan State played their way to 1 seed yesterday.

Absolute bs what they did to Michigan State

Just stupid that we have to play NMSU at high altitude

Las Cruces 3900'
SLC 4700'

AU 700'

Sounds legit

When can the team get there? I'd think the earlier the better.

Pearl said they were flying out Tuesday which would put them there Tuesday night.

I think the altitude being a factor is a little overblown. Our players are well conditioned.

If NBA players can fly in early in the morning and play the same night, I think we can deal.

Agree. Its not like were playing on a 14er. I lived 9k above for 3 months in Yellowstone and honestly I noticed very little difference even when I went on 20+ mile hikes.

Like I said, I've been hiking on mountain trails all over an area right south of Salt Lake City, near the city of Tooele while my company works a project at Dugway.

I have noticed minimal differences in my ability to breathe. The biggest difference is during the summer that you get dehydrated crazy fast and unlike here in the south, you don't sweat at all because the air is so dry it evaporates almost instantly. It's kind of freaky if you haven't ever been exposed to it.

So yeah, I think playing at a little under 5k maybe effects people of different backgrounds and ages differently, but I've got to think that a deep team of conditioned 20 year old athletes can weather the storm for a basketball game.

Glad to see Heron's team, St John get in. Not sure they deserved it, but happy for him.

Sure he was somewhat disappointed watching AU win the SECT, and knowing he would have been a big part of it.

Pearl has the team in great condition and it showed vs Tennessee so I'm not worried about the altitude plus our team is peaking at the perfect time.

In my experience, when I first moved to NM, I didn't start feeling noticeable effects exercising until I was around 6,000', and then it becomes really noticeable at 8,000'+.

If AU didn't have a deep bench, I would be worried. But we do, so I don't think it will be a factor.
