I still say the prayer game in 2013 was two wrongs making a right, because you still can't convince me Aaron Murray crossed the goal line. As exciting as the games were in '13, I make no apologies for any of 'em.

But yeah, if you go back and watch those games (as well as '09-'11), there's alot going on that seemingly vanished from the playbook. Yeah, Cam and Nick and all that, but the offense was different with Todd & Trotter too. Maybe Gus needs to get locked in the film room & be required to watch some of his older games ala A Clockwork Orange...

Ironically, it seemed like it was pretty much consensus amongst AU posters on tRant that the reason our offense sucked after the Clemson game in 2011 was that Chiz was dictating to Gustav to slow things down in a vain attempt to help our shitastic defense.

I mean, that wasn't an unreasonable assertion to make. In 2009 we were like top 10 in time between plays, 2010 we were somewhere in the 20's I think. 2011 was a big drop off. Gus has abandoned the HUNH for the most part now, but back then that didn't seem like the case.

here is what I haven't seen out of Fisher

2013 7 ranked teams on our schedule including 5 in the top 10.

2014 7 ranked teams on our schedule including 3 in the top 5.

2015 Only 4 top 25 teams with two being in the top 10.

2016 6 top 25 teams with 3 being in the top 10.

So far this year our two losses are to the number 4 team and number 19 team both in night time road games.

With all of this, Gus has maintained a shite storm free team and maintained a top 5 Auburn coach winning percentage. We have the potential to end this season with 4 losses and 3 of the teams could potentially be in the playoffs. We could lose this weekend to A&M but I think we win.

I don't really like Jimbo but he has a solid rep and a lot of connections across the south. Probably would be a good hire for AU if Gus is gone and he really does want out of Tally.

frick that. His team has totally collapsed this season. Yes, Bama knocked out his QB, but that's no excuse to lose almost every game, especially considering FSU's talent is probably top 5.

Gus' ceiling is 9 wins, 2013 was a fluke.

Heisman trophy winners make mediocre coaches look great... says Kevin Sumlin and Jimbo Fisher fans as well.

Yeah, but do any Sumlin detractors use arguments like "well, if Auburn didn't fumble twice in '14, they would've won, so we got lucky"? Believe me, I've got plenty enough gripes on Gus as it is already, but a win is a win is a win. Besides, like many coaches have said, you need a few breaks during a championship run anyway... the Stoerner fumble against UT and the UT botched FG against Bama immediately come to mind...
