From Marcello:

Arkansas: Bret Bielema future may very well depend on a Nov. 18 date with Mississippi State. If the Hogs can get past Coastal Carolina this weekend and Mizzou in the season finale, they’ll need one more win against the Bulldogs or at LSU to get to a bowl game. Sources indicate getting to a bowl game would greatly improve Bielema’s chances to return in 2018. A 5-7 or 4-8 finish would make things awfully difficult. Who would be in the mix if Bielema is fired? One well-placed source believes Auburn coach Gus Malzahn is ready for a change and would bolt if offered. The same source believes the school would have to be turned down a time or two for Malzahn to truly be in the mix. Keep an eye on Chad Morris. Arkansas wants to get back into Texas recruiting and hiring Morris opens a lot of doors.

More from insider..

Jimbo wants out of FSU could land at aTm. Justin Fuente and Chad Morris also on aTmS radar.

Tennessee Dan Mullen or Chad Morris

UF Scott Frost, Mike Norvell, CHip Kelley, or Willie Taggart. Taggart denies any interest.

Insider thinks there's a shot Wiley and Purifoy could return in January for SEC play. There are a lot of moving parts though.

Gus trying to get a pay raise with this Arkansas talk

The jimbo situation is interesting though, they're having a very bad year and he hasn't recovered since 2013.

Marcello also said the announcement on JJ's resignation would be last Tuesday, didn't he?

The part about Bert getting fired if he goes 5-7 or worse is probably accurate though. I just can't see them going after Gustav.

I don't really like Jimbo but he has a solid rep and a lot of connections across the south. Probably would be a good hire for AU if Gus is gone and he really does want out of Tally.

If he doesn't leave for TAMU he isn't for AU either

Regardless of what fans want, I could see Malzahn wanting a change if it’s true the powers that be “forced” him to give up play calling. Arkansas would allow him to run the program how he wants without behind the scenes meddling. That’s got to be a huge selling point.

Why not Jimbo Fisher?

He’s way better than Gus Malzahn, and would easily be Auburn’s best head coach in quite some time.

He also develops quarterbacks.

The only negative side to him is that his offense is pro-style and almost strictly pro-style. He needs to do some things to bring excitement back to that offense like the rest of college football.

Didn't a lot of his coordinators bolt asap? Even on the verge of a natty season with Jameis Harvey Winston the coordinators bolted like DC.

Just what I remember.

Jimbo has trouble keeping his assistants because he can’t pay them.

Jimbo is a risk nowadays. He won the NC in 2013 and since then FSU has taken a big step back. The guy also had some personal issues at home with a nasty divorce.

Not sure he has the fire or passion to build Auburn into what we want it to be.
