Robinson has skyrocketed up the draft boards over the last two months and is a projected first or second-rounder. According to a source that has spoken to Robinson within the last month, Robinson is expected to turn pro. Mason is projected first, second or third-rounder, and if that holds true, this same source also expects Mason to turn pro. The source seemed more confident regarding Robinson's state of mind than Mason's, but both are expected to turn pro if the projections hold up.

Nothing unexpected to me. We'll be alright next year if they both choose the draft. Whatever is best for them.

Personally, I think they are both gone. Greg Robinson will be harder to replace, but we still have Shon Coleman and Pat Miller if needed. Cam Artis-Payne, Corey Grant, and Racean Thomas will carry the load pretty effectively, IMO. Peyton Barber is also in the stable and ready to roll.

You don't lose two guys like that and not hurt your team. Good for them, but hate it for us.

I agree. I love Mason and he is a beast but IMO CAP is more explosive to the hole and will be just as effective.

I agree with this and this was the first thing I thought of when I read the headline. Bringing in Dampeer as a dedicated backup center will help us instead of having to shuffle someone in if Dismukes left early.

GRob will be a hit, you don't lose your left tackle and not get hurt but tackle is a spot we can lose someone and still keep going forward.

I will even dare to say that losing GRob will hurt us a bit next year but help in the long run. Having a tackle leave early and get drafted top couple rounds will look great considering what a mess our line looked like before this coaching staff. Plus it will open up a spot from that 7 linemen class and allow us to take a player in another spot to help balance the roster out.

Mason will hurt but running back is a spot we should still be ok. Bringing in Williams will help ease the blow by giving us more of a passing presence to open up the run some more.

I think Mason is gonna go.

He has not made up his mind yet, but it seems to make the most sense. Talked to someone who would know and mentioned how much I would like Mason to stay FWIW.

ETA: Just noticed the 30k thing Beaver. I'm not good at posting pics or gif or all that creative. Maybe I'll hold off on any more posts until I get home from work tonight and post something on the rant...

I would love for Mason to come back for another year and I think that realistically, he could improve his draft stock but it would be a huge risk that might not be worth it. If the NFL is his dream, he should take his shot now.

Both Mason and Grob were barely mentioned by draft people now are projected first day guys. That will be huge for recruits since our coaches can claim their success was a result of coaching by our coaches

Mason openly talks about leaving but he obviously could stay. Grob is more interesting and don't know much about his views but I expect him to go if he has a good last showing and good draft grades

I know those orange and blue glasses are bright right now, but damn. Those thinking that we will not miss these two are naive or I guess doesn't think these two are really that good.

We will miss both, especially our left tackle where the majority of our runs have been.

I know logic has been banned on the rant. Is it still permitted here?

With Russell training these guys we have several guys like Diamond, Miller and Coleman.

I wouldn't fault either for leaving, but, man, if Tre stayed and had even a year worse than 2012 and only got 1,048 yards between the bowl this year and all of next season, he would leave school next year with the second most career rushing yards in Auburn history.
If he had a year even close to this year, gaining 1,530 yards combined between the bowl this year and next season, he would leave ahead of the legend himself, Bo Jackson, as the all time rushing leader in Auburn history.
I know stuff like that probably never even crosses the minds of these players, but man, can you imagine???

If Grob goes pro, I think Avery Young would get a shot at LT. Coleman and Miller would replace him at RT.

If Dismukes stays (as he likely will), I see them redshirting Dampeer. That way he'll be up and ready to go for two years when Dismukes graduates.

but what I meant was that we will finally have a dedicated backup center instead of a guard doing double duty. I think Dampeer will redshirt also to learn the schemes and then be our center for a couple years. We will need to bring in a freshman center next year to replace Dampeer.

I wish that things worked out with Casher because I would have liked to have him come in for a couple years and take over as a redshirt sophomore.

If Tre stayed he could win the Heisman and hopefully be a part of Auburn's first repeat national championships.

BUT, the name Marcus Lattimore comes to mind. Your lifespan as a RB is short, way too short, so strike while the iron is hot. So War Eagle, thank you and I wish you well.

I hope they both stay, but I never have a problem with a guy chasing his dream. Both will be hard to replace. We have guys behind them who are very capable, IMO. I hope they go out NC's!

I think with Malzahn's system and quality of RBs that we will miss GRob more. I love Avery Young and think he makes the move to LT and the dropoff from AY to either COleman or Miller won't be high

That being said, Grob is a first round pick because he is dominant and he earned that grade compared to guys like CyKo who have been good but grade high on preseason hype/potential. That is a huge dropoff on the line in addition to redoing chemistry with essentially having "new" guys at both tackle spots

Mason I think will be missed because he is dominant but our offense will only improve next year passing and our quality of RBs will soften the blow. He is an all time great at AU and will be missed but I just don't see our offense needing someone that good next year as it picks up in areas that were subpar this year
